The term "indigo children" appeared in everyday life relatively recently with the light hand of the American psychic Nancy Ann Tapp. So she named the children with an aura of indigo color. Everyone knows what indigo is. The aura is more difficult. This is a very deep capacious spiritual concept, which is not given to everyone to comprehend to the end.
In a nutshell: the aura is understood as the human biofield, which surrounds his body, like a cocoon of a caterpillar. Various energy fields come together here, and such an integral essence is formed, which is impossible to discern with a simple eye. Only individuals with a certain gift can see it.
Nancy Tapp, apparently, possessed such a gift and drew attention to the fact that in some children the aura has a color - an average between dark blue and purple, that is, indigo. The woman also noticed the unusual abilities of such children. All of them had a high level of intelligence and a very delicate, sensitive, vulnerable psyche. These children did not resemble their peers in behavior, had a broad outlook and quickly learned everything new.
Many people were interested in the original observations of the American woman. The most interesting thing was that, in fact, all of her statements turned out to be true. Unusual children did exist, and in large numbers. They lived in all corners of the planet, in different social strata of society.
In 1999, a book by US citizen Lee Carroll was published, co-authored with his wife Jen Tober, entitled "Indigo Children - New Children Are Here." It is written in the spirit of New Age (a set of mystical movements and trends) and informs the reader about the high spiritual mission of the coming generation.
Young creatures, only making their first steps on this planet, reflects Lee Carroll, have abilities an order of magnitude higher than those of their parents. They perceive the world around them in a completely different way and bring goodness, knowledge and progress with them. All this already exists in the sublunary world, but it has been perverted and disfigured by previous generations, and therefore leads civilization to death. To overestimate the existing values, to look at them from a different angle - and it is given to the Indigo Children.
Only a man of a new formation can save the planet from disaster. He will not be afraid not only to destroy long-obsolete dogmas and stereotypes, but also to offer a completely different perception of the world, a completely different content and filling of the human soul. The future belongs to the children chosen by Providence. Every day these little creatures are becoming more and more, and therefore people will not die, but will become better, cleaner and kinder.
It is difficult to judge where Lee Carroll is right and what is wrong, but there is no doubt that the trend towards an increase in the number of unusual children is visible to the naked eye these days. According to some experts, now on the planet 70% of children under 10 years old are Indigo Children, and there are 40% of those aged 15 to 25 years. The statistics are clearly exaggerated and far from reality, but who knows what the situation will be in twenty years.

What are these “flowers of life” all the same, why did such a stir around them arise? It turns out that these young creatures have certain qualities and characteristics that are inherent only to them and to no one else.
First of all, it should be noted here their low sociability. They are closed, it is difficult to make contact, they do not open their inner world even to very close people. At the same time, they have high self-esteem and individualism. The Indigo Children do not agree to exchange their independence and freedom for anything.
Considering themselves to be the center of the Universe, they at the same time tend to acquire a wide variety of knowledge. These children have high intelligence (IQ = 130) and great creativity. At the same time, it is noted that they are very restless, energetic and have difficulty concentrating. This is most likely due to the great ability to master the material. Sitting in a school class, such a child very quickly grasps the essence of the topic presented by the teacher, and further becomes uninteresting to him.
Indigo children are very vulnerable, sensitive to any injustice and have a high sense of responsibility. It is impossible to influence them by traditional methods of education, but misunderstanding on the part of teachers causes depression and depression in children's souls.
Mood swings are an integral part of their personalities. In life, recognizing a person with a dominant one or another part of the brain is not always easy, but possible. For children, Indigo is all equal, and there are no exceptions.
Can it be argued that these children are geniuses? It is impossible to answer this question unequivocally. Genius needs to be developed, and this requires a lot of work. History knows many cases when a talented and outstanding child, growing up, turned into an ordinary drunkard or gray mediocrity.
In any case, it all depends on the environment. Society is not very welcoming to the Indigo Children. The dissimilarity causes rejection. A banal stereotype - be like everyone else - can kill any creativity. Forcing himself to adapt to the situation, a person loses many valuable qualities, and most importantly, he cannot then reproduce them in himself. They die, forever changing their character, and turn a bright, outstanding personality into an ordinary nondescript part of the crowd.
Unfortunately, many talented children also follow this path. Someone finds the strength to resist the circumstances, while others do not. We can say that nowadays an invisible struggle is gaining strength between the new and the progressive and the old, which is out of date. The future is undoubtedly with the Indigo Children, but what will it cost them. How many of them will stand and go their way to the end, and how many will fold their hands and hit all the hard in order to pour the bitterness of defeat with drugs and vodka.
One thing pleases me: they write about this problem, they say, give advice on raising unusual children. In other words, the secret was revealed. This means that one can look at childhood oddities not through the eyes of a psychiatrist, but with the intent, searching gaze of a wise parent, who is trying to determine behind the external pricks and isolation, the great gift of the future reformer and creator of a new life.
