For some reason, the root "Ryur" in Russian is associated with a falcon, in fact, "PARYUR" in the Old Russian language means decoration, and the ending "ik" indicates a temporary belonging: a baryzhnik, an alcoholic, a blasphemer, an atheist, a burglar, an informer, etc. etc. Therefore, Rurik is a dynasty of temporary workers who love to decorate themselves.

But today's numerous interpretations of the word "viking" do not take into account the main thing, that in many languages Viking means a mermaid.
