Video: MANY go to BLACK MOUNTAIN... but FEW RETURN. "BIZARRE SLIME is a clue!" 2024, May
Anonim

There is a place shrouded in mystery in Australia's Northern state of Queensland. This is the Kalkajaka mountain, which is also called the "killer mountain" or "black mountain". The aborigines gave it such a name due to the fact that people disappear here. Looking at Kalkajaka, one gets the feeling that some huge dump truck has unloaded a heap of coal right in the middle of the trees. It seems to be nothing unusual if it were not for the size of this heap - 3 km in length, and at the same time pieces of "coal" 6 m in diameter!

Mysterious disappearances

Hans Looser, a researcher from the Australian city of Cooktown, devoted his entire life to the study of this mountain. But I must say that only in theory. He collected local legends and eyewitness stories, but he himself never visited this place, they say that he was afraid.

Looser's archives contain a record of his 70-year-old conversation with a certain military man named McCormick. The sergeant said that people in the area of the mountain began to disappear a long time ago, since the first settlers appeared here.

The postman was the first to disappear. In 1877 he rode around the countryside on horseback in search of a cow that had strayed from the herd. No one else saw the rider, the horse, or the cow.

A couple of years later, Jack Sugar Leg, who had fled from hard labor, disappeared without a trace along with his accomplices. The last thing known about them was that they found shelter inside the mountain. Another 10 years later, in front of the persecuting constable Ryan, the mountain-killer appeared - and he disappeared. His footprints went deep into the cave. The gold miner Rennes and the local resident Harry Owen also disappeared there. And after them and George Hawkins, who went to the mountain in search of the latter. Two police officers, sent in search, following Hawkins' trail, entered the cave. But only one of them came back, and in such a state that he could not explain anything.

In the 1930s, a certain katala Harry Page hid here from pursuers and also disappeared. Then he was found. More precisely, his corpse. No one knows what happened to these people, but almost all researchers are inclined to think that the point is in the grief itself.

From time immemorial

Scientists claim that the age of this 300 m high massif is approximately 250 million years. For centuries, the magma of which it is composed has hardened and eroded until it reaches its present size. True, lovers of the paranormal believe that the killer mountain is a man-made structure built by an ancient advanced civilization, from which only ruins are now left. In their opinion, somewhere here there is an entrance to the underground city of the Reptilians.

The mysteries of the Black Mountain interested the Czech explorer Ivan Makerle, and he made several attempts to penetrate its secret.

According to Makerle, the local population is afraid to approach the mountain, the legends about it and the history of the disappearance of people sound too frightening. By the way, not only people, but also animals and birds avoid this terrible place. Even airplanes fly around it, as there is constant turbulence in the air and a disturbance of the magnetic field is felt. The researcher is sure that, having solved the secret of the mountain, one can touch the chronicles containing ancient wisdom, find untold treasures. Although, it is quite possible, all this wealth is guarded by various demons, spirits and poisonous snakes.

Going in search of clues, Mackerle settled in the Lion Denn Hotel, in the bar of which locals, farmers and rare tourists gathered every evening. One of the farmers. Peter Fitzgerald was very surprised when he heard about Ivan's proposed route. And then, in his hearts, he called the researcher and his colleagues crazy, mentioning that the killer mountain “swallowed” everyone who dared to approach it. Not to be unfounded, he introduced the newcomers to two aborigines sitting at the next table. The guests ordered beer for them and began to listen to the old legends about the mountain. Of course, for the researchers, all this sounded like a terrible fairy tale, nothing more. But what the aborigines said next, intrigued them. As it turned out, the killer mountain makes various sounds, similar to screaming, sobbing, and sometimes even unearthly music is heard from it.

From theory to practice

Makerle and his comrades did not heed the warnings of the local residents and decided to go to the mountain. True, not in full force. Ivan and Danny were going to camp at the foot, while the others were waiting for them at the hotel.

The bed of a dried-up river served as a reference point for the daredevils, which led them straight to the mountain. The picture opened up grim: black shiny boulders, twisted trees and gaping black holes right at their feet in the ground, from which they smelled terrible.

The night began suddenly, it was not yet 7 pm. Ivan and Danny lit a gas lamp, and in its dim light everything seemed even more gloomy. And the painful sensation from local legends did not go away.

At about 10 pm the wind blew so strong that the trees crackled. The men climbed into the tent and tried to sleep, but each listened intently to the darkness. Suddenly, when fatigue almost took its toll, there was a deafening silence. All sounds disappeared: the crackling of branches, the cries of birds and animals, the howling of the wind. And the next moment a stone rolled down the mountain above the tent. And then there was the sound of human-like footsteps. Someone was walking towards the tent. Uncertainty and fear made the men go outside. But all that could be seen in the light of the lantern was a swaying shapeless black mass against the background of bushes, which quickly melted into the air …

Inside the mountain

In the morning the men set off in search of the entrance to the mountain. Its entire surface was in holes that led somewhere down. Having found a bigger hole, the daredevils went down the rope and ended up in a rather large room, from which tunnels went in all directions. Choosing the widest one, going down diagonally, they walked about 10 m along it. And they ended up in another room, from which four corridors began. Two of them ended in a dead end, and the third had to be crawled. Having made their way along it, the friends found themselves in another corridor - high. But it looked like a maze, so they began to mark their way with a rope.

Passing from corridor to corridor under the gaze of huge bats, of which there were many, the researchers came across a large stone that had once collapsed from the ceiling. When Ivan tried to squeeze between him and the wall, a rockfall began, and a dark abyss opened very close to his feet.

For several days Ivan and Danny searched for another entrance to the mountain, but to no avail. One thing was clear to them: there was a network of underground passages and labyrinths of unknown origin in the mountain. Treasures, ancient coffins and other artifacts are all controversial. But the fact that the killer mountain is hollow inside, according to the locals, turned out to be true.

The disappearance of people, given Makerle's research, can also be explained. The unfortunate fell into a tangled maze of corridors. They did not know how to mark their path, so they got lost, panicked and, in the end, remained forever in grief. Strange sounds coming from the heart of Kalkajaki are most likely the howl of the wind, falling stones and rock bursting from temperature changes. But who or what walked around the tent at night remains a mystery …

Black Mountain fairy tale

Aboriginal people say that once in one of the tribes living near the Black Mountain, a strange and terrible man appeared who declared himself a healer. His name was Flesh Eater - he really loved human flesh. The aborigines were afraid of the newcomer and periodically fed him infirm old people or hopelessly sick. But one night, his hunger became so strong that the Eater did not wait for offerings, but ate the sleeping leader. Fleeing from the angry men of the tribe, he took the form of a serpent and crawled to the mountain, in the very heart of which he settled. But hunger sometimes makes itself felt, and the Flesh Eater crawls out for another victim …
