When Jean was almost at her goal, her strength finally left her - the girl was already too cold. She did not reach the house of her acquaintances only fifty meters. At about six in the morning, she lost consciousness and remained lying in the snow.
At seven in the morning, her friend Nelly left the house and saw Jean in a snowdrift. She was sure that the girl was dead - according to Nelly, Jean looked more like a wax mannequin than a human.
