The territory of Samarskaya Luka is located within the Volga, Stavropol and Syzran districts of the Samara region. The Volga River loops around the Zhigulevskie mountains, forming one of the most interesting, beautiful and at the same time anomalous zones in Russia.

Even the bend of the Volga is a mystery. Why did the river with a powerful flow not break through the isthmus formed by soft rocks, but bends around in a huge loop, making its way through solid granite rocks in the area of the city of Samara and Togliatti?

According to experts, in the last 10 years alone, more than a thousand paranormal phenomena have occurred here, but the first mysterious events began in the last century.

In 1932, an observer at the Samara square named after M. V. Frunze, saw a strange ray of light that arose beyond the Volga, over the Zhiguli mountains. The beam had no visible source and just hung over the mountains. Then he plunged into the river, created visible waves, and never reappeared.

In 1978, in one of the pioneer camps at the foot of the Zhiguli Mountains, 200 people could contemplate a vertical column of light in the sky. Hanging over the mountains for several minutes, he began to descend. Further evidence is contradictory: the vast majority of eyewitnesses simply lost sight of the object, but several people assured that before the light disappeared from the field of view, it flashed into bright rays.

From the point of view of scientists, the anomalous phenomenon is caused by air ionization, which occurs in the area of action of powerful electromagnetic or radiation radiation. Such emissions can be caused by underground deposits of uranium and radium. It is known that in the area of Samarskaya Luka there are deposits of these rocks, but the whole formula for the formation of mysterious glow has not yet been derived.

Samarskaya Luka is also famous for its network of unexplored caves. They pass under the entire massif of the Zhiguli mountains, although many of them are now inaccessible due to landslides. There are many legends around these dungeons.

According to one of them, there are long passages in the Monastery Hill, where many mummies have been preserved: some sit in niches, others lie in stone sarcophagi. In addition, on patronal holidays, barge haulers often heard solemn morning and evening bells from the depths of the Monastery Mountain.

According to another legend, it was here, in the vicinity of the village of Malaya Ryazan, that Stepan Razin's lair seemed to be located - a vast cave, the passages of which stretch along all the mountain ranges. It was this feature of the cave that allowed the chieftain to appear unexpectedly almost anywhere.

The most extravagant phenomena that have not yet found official scientific confirmation are the meetings of local residents with the so-called Bigfoot. According to eyewitnesses, Bigfoot looked like a creature about 2 meters tall, with deep-set eyes and a body completely covered with hair. Unfortunately, no photographs or video footage of the amazing creature could be taken.

The unique formation of the Samarskaya Luka allowed these places to remain practically unchanged over time and led to the formation of a unique flora and fauna, and no one will say for sure what you can encounter in these parts.
