The myth of the Flood that killed all people, and of the righteous man who was saved on a huge ship, is known to many ancient cultures in various parts of the world. Undoubtedly, the most famous legend is the legend about Noah and the ship he built, on which Noah himself, his family, and a couple of each of God's creation were saved. The place where the ark "moored" when the flood subsided is Mount Ararat in Turkey. In the legends of other peoples, ships docked in different places on the planet.

The first person to climb the sacred Mount Ararat at the beginning of the 19th century was the Frenchman Friedrich Parrot. He did not find the ark. However, he did not look for it, but, despite this, went down in history as the founder of the science of "arkology". All subsequent expeditions to find the legendary ship did not bring any results. Researchers regularly gave out sensational news about their findings, but after a fairly short period of time, it became clear that these were either fictions or delusions.

It is well known that all building materials deteriorate over time. Only rock monoliths remain in good condition, but not the wood from which the Ark is made. Over the millennia that have passed since the Flood, the traces of the ship, even if it existed, in reality, have long ago turned to dust. But such arguments are of little concern to enthusiasts of the search for "Noah's Ark." They are sure that the ship could have survived thanks to divine providence, that is, there are metaphysical traces, but they are looking for physical traces, tangible evidence of the reality of the story of the Flood. The search for "Noah's Ark" itself is becoming a legend, they are overgrown with their own myths, dubious photographs, stories and artifacts. Many people who sincerely believe in the legend of Noah are ready to go in search of his "Ark" even tomorrow.

However, there are those who are not going to look for the Ark, but are creating a legend with their own hands. In just three years, Johan Huybers, a simple carpenter from Holland, built a full-scale replica of Noah's Ark. Johan Huybers's Ark was built exactly as described in the Bible: length - 133.5 m (300 cubits), width - 22.25 m (50 cubits), height - 13.35 m (30 cubits). Of course, animals are also located on it, but if you compare with the Bible, you can find differences. Of course, there are not all "twos in pairs", and they are made of plastic. True, the new Ark still has a small zoo. And the Ark was built from the metal of old wooden barges. There is also on the copy of the ark that which could not be on Noah's ark. Johan Huybers's Ark is equipped with an elevator, video surveillance, fire alarm. There is a restaurant, a conference room and even a theater on it.

Keeping up with the recreation of the ark from the Old World and the New World. According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, a 155-meter long replica of Noah's ark was created in Kentucky. The price of this copy is $ 100 million and 6 years (it took Johan Huybers three years and a little over $ 1.5 million). The Americans have already called their ark the world's largest wooden structure. The author of the project, Ken Ham, assures that his creation will become a place of pilgrimage for Christians around the world. The new Ark has the ability to go across the ocean. Johan Huybers is planning to transport his Noah's Ark to Israel and is now collecting money for this. Towing from Holland to Israel takes about a million dollars.
