Bromezhik was a hamlet created before World War II in 1936. In 2005, the population was 27 people, but now it is completely gone, and a forest is growing in its place.

Many draw parallels between Bromezhik and Aokigahara. What unites the Pushcha, located in the western part of the National Park of Poland, with the forest on the slope of Mount Fuji in Japan?

In fact, both places are notorious because they attract like a magnet to people who believe in the paranormal and suicide. It is believed that both forests are haunted by the spirits of the dead. In both Poland and Japan, people entering the forest experience a strange feeling of uneasiness, and the atmosphere is conducive to obsession, memory loss, or cravings for the end of earthly life.

Strange things are happening in Bromezhik. Many of the people who decided to travel to the place of the former village did not return home. A few days later they were found hanged from trees. The reason they did this has not been established.

Mysterious Suicide Forest

According to residents of neighboring settlements, it was always scary there, and legends about unexplained phenomena in the area have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial.

Today, a pine forest grows on the site of this village, and only the remains of the foundation can be seen from the old buildings. Moreover, just like the Aokigahara forest, Bromejik has always attracted suicides. According to legend, if someone decided to hang himself, even if he lived far away, in another village, then the place of his death, he always chose this forest.

The dark history of the village

A walk through an abandoned village leaves a ghostly impression. After the old buildings, only parts of the foundations, pieces of walls and wildly growing fruit trees remained. They say that at dusk one can hear strange whispers and groans coming from there.

According to witnesses, these are the voices of the people killed here during the Second World War. Bromezhik has a very dark history. During World War II, almost all the villagers were killed, and those who miraculously survived left their homes forever.

Legends of Bromezhik

According to one legend, white figures often flash between the trees, and if a person drives a car into the forest and turns off the engine, then there is a high probability that the car will no longer start. They say that a horse often walks through the territory of the former village, which suddenly dissolves into thin air.

Another story tells of a cow that is summoned by a chain and disappears, astonishing the people around. The animals can be found most often between the chapel of St. Teresa and the oak of St. Teresa, located near the ruins of the village. Also in this area, the noise of a chain hitting a tree is often heard, which is always heard from the back of frightened witnesses and often changes its position.

The locals do not try to visit this forest. And living near this place is probably creepy.
