One of them is associated with the so-called Stone of Lies - a split megalith, which is located on the outskirts of the city of Pionersky. The Legend of the Murdered Bride
The most famous legend associated with the Stone of Lies tells about the newlyweds who loved each other very much. It goes back centuries and is also mentioned in the German book Legends of the Prussian Land, published in Königsberg in 1863.
The legend tells of a young local fisherman who was about to get married and once came to this stone with his bride. There they swore love and fidelity to each other, and then the fisherman went to sea for a long time, confident that the girl would wait for him and would not meet other guys.
When he returned back with a rich catch, he sold the fish and decided to get married. The girl assured him that she was strictly fulfilling her oath. However, when they again approached the ancient megalith cut into two parts, the fisherman asked the bride to confirm her words by going through a crack in the stone. Before the bride had time to enter the gap, lightning fell from the sky and two halves of the stone moved and slammed shut, crushing the girl to death. So the Stone of Lies punished her for telling a lie. It turns out that she was cheating with another guy while the groom was at sea.

Ancient sanctuary
The port city of Pionersky is actually very ancient, it used to be called Neikuren and was mentioned even in the annals of 1254. There is a version that in the place where the Stone of Lies stands, there used to be "gates" to a large pagan sanctuary or burial. It is also known that several centuries ago, not far from this stone, there was a mountain with the strange name of the Mountain of the Giants or the Mountain of the Dead, that is, this place was really unusual.
During the Soviet era, archaeological excavations were carried out here and many unique artifacts were discovered, some of which are now kept in the city historical and archaeological museum "Rantava". And during the latest local excavations in 1987-1993, a large burial ground with 280 burials and a sanctuary dating back to the 2nd millennium BC were discovered nearby.

How exactly in ancient times the locals used the Stone of Lies is now not known for certain. Whether rituals of "checking for a lie" were actually carried out there, as in the legend of the fisherman and his bride, is also not clear now. However, many locals still consider this stone to be magical, including wish-fulfilling.
