In the article New hypothesis of the formation of permafrost and the movement of ancient glaciers, I put forward a hypothesis that the mechanism of formation of permafrost, which spreads to depths of hundreds of meters, may be associated with the process of dissolution of salts in water and its sharp cooling (endothermic reaction). This article is a confirmation of this hypothesis.

Soil salinity map. It can be seen that Yakutia has a large area with salty soils. I do not think that anyone in the deep taiga or in the tundra has drilled and analyzed cores. Samples were taken from the surface, so the salinity is indicated as surface. But there are also industrial deposits of salt, which indicates its deep bedding.

Salt lakes do not surprise anyone. But the little-known fact that there are salty rivers in Yakutia makes us think.

The Namana River, more than 400 km long, is a tributary of the Lena.

Quote about R. Naman:

Both the Solyanka and the Kempendyai rivers (a tributary of the Vilyui) are also salty. Their salinity: the Kempndyai river contains 8 g / l of salt. In Solyanka - 21 g / l. There are also salt streams in the floodplains of these rivers. And there the salt content reaches 70 g / l.

Scientists explain this phenomenon by the fact that there was a sea here millions of years ago. And now the streams that come out like streams of underground rivers are washing and dissolving this salt. It seems logical and with this explanation geology has been living for some ten years.

And where did the salt in this sea come from? I believe that the processes taking place in the bowels of the earth are different according to the results of chemical compounds. Somewhere chemical reactions are such that lead to the formation of NaCl (table salt). It is also washed out by underground sources coming out to the surface. Where there was a lot of salt water (the lowlands were flooded) - there salt water bodies were formed with salt deposition on the surface.

Now is a calm geological period. Nothing falls to the Earth, there are no pole shifts (or what was the starting mechanism of the cataclysms). Now there is a calm process of water release from the bowels (it is also synthesized through hydrogen degassing).

Returning to the permafrost. If at one time water came out of the bowels in gigantic volumes, then when salt dissolved (or mixed fresh and salt water), its temperature decreased with crystallization. Both on the surface and in depth. Hence such powerful layers of permafrost.

It is possible that the temperature pole of cold, which is also located in this region, is also associated with this endothermic process. In winter, the extraction of heat from the air is more noticeable.
