In the southeast of Mexico, in the area of present-day Honduras and Guatemala, there was once a group of highly developed civilizations. who owned technologies that were significantly different from what we imagine about the life of the ancients. The Maya, the last of the pre-Columbian civilizations, were excellent at working metals, as evidenced by the fantastic amount of high-quality gold jewelry in their graves.
In one of these cities swallowed by the jungle, called the City of Fallen Stones, F. Mitchell-Hedges, an archaeologist from the United States, explored temples in 1927 in search of Mayan secrets. Instead, he added another one to their secrets. Among the rubble and various debris, he found an object that shone brightly into the light. Upon closer examination, it turned out to be a female-type skull, made of the finest polished quartz. Inside the walls of the quartz Mayan skull, smoky specks and small balls swayed, resembling air bubbles in soda. But the outer surface was perfect, free from scratches, cracks and the smallest damage.
The weight of this creation, apparently carved from a single piece of quartz rock, is more than five kilograms. It is made with incredible precision, fully consistent with the proportions and features of the human anatomy.
Over time, this work of art and a magical artifact of the Mayan skull was closely studied by Frank Dorland, a famous restorer. He came to the paradoxical conclusion that the skull was created without the use of metal tools, and then it was polished with a special paste, which contained flint sand and quartz chips. But it took at least 300 years to complete such work! Even the lower jaw of the skull is movably fixed in sockets and can move.
If suspended in the air, the skull is able to move its jaw at the slightest movement of air, while simulating human articulation exactly. Moreover, by placing a light source inside the crystal skull, it is possible to achieve various "otherworldly" effects, such as rays from the eyes of the skull. If you place any objects at a certain angle, they will be visually projected deep into the skull, creating a striking three-dimensional effect.
Obviously, the priests skillfully used the colossal effect of this kind of object on believers, because the Mayan skull could “speak” instead of the gods, shine, let see different objects and predictions. Even in the modern civilized world, its effect on people is very strong: many develop heart palpitations, some lose consciousness.

For the first time such a skull was found in 1927 in Central America by the expedition of the famous English archaeologist and traveler F. Albert Mitchell-Hedges. When the smoke finally cleared away, the participants of the expedition had an amazing sight: stone ruins of a pyramid, city walls and a huge amphitheater for thousands of spectators. Lubaantun, "City of Fallen Stones" - this name, with the light hand of Mitchell-Hedges, was attached to the ancient settlement.
Three years passed, and Mitchell-Hedges took his young daughter Anna on his next expedition. The head of the excavation did not even suspect that she would become a happy talisman for everyone. In April 1927, on her seventeenth birthday, Anna discovered an amazing object under the rubble of an ancient altar. It was a life-size, highly polished human skull made of the finest quartz crystal. True, he lacked the lower jaw, but after three months, literally ten meters away, she was also found. It turned out that this crystal piece is suspended on perfectly smooth hinges and starts to move at the slightest touch.
Some of the researchers suggested that in fact the Mayan skull was created in Ancient Egypt or Babylon, and only much later transported to the Mayan country. How much this may correspond to reality is difficult to say. It is rather forbidden archeology than history.

The Swiss magazine Mysteries reported sensational news. A skull made from a single piece of crystal is kept in a Bavarian house - supposedly this is the heritage of the ancient Mayans. The rarity could have belonged to the Nazi bosses.
For three years now, the valuable item has been gathering dust in the attic in an old leather satchel. The knapsack is hidden in a wooden chest. The owner of the 12-kilogram skull, whose name has not been disclosed, received it for a penny, "for the price of a sandwich."
He assures that the "crystal head" belonged to the ancient Maya, who used it in religious rituals. Twelve of these skulls have been found. According to legend, there is a thirteenth. If you collect the entire collection, you can prevent the end of the world.
The tool for the salvation of mankind promises a considerable profit to the Bavarian. Especially if it is possible to prove that the crystal skull was part of the collection of the Reichsfuehrer SS Heinrich Himmler. As you know, the Nazi bosses were greedy for such things. Attached to the skull is a hitherto unknown four-page list - an inventory of 35 pieces of art that Hitler and Himmler ordered to be transported through Augsburg to the Czech Strakonice shortly before the end of World War II. At number 14 it says: “Crystal Skull. Rana Collection, no. 25592, leather satchel, crystal head, colonies, South America."
SS Obersturmführer Otto Rahn was a renowned archaeologist of the Third Reich. He was a member of the Ahnenerbe Research Society and even went in search of the Holy Grail.
