The Makusi Indians knew about the existence of a huge cavity inside the Earth almost a hundred years ago. But are their legends true, or is this another incredible folk story?
What if Jules Verne's famous Journey to the Center of the Earth is actually true? And somewhere down there, a whole new world awaits us, a place where somehow living beings live in the depths of our planet, a place that ancient cultures and civilizations knew about for a long time.
What if it's really true?
The Makusi Indians are indigenous to the Amazon in countries such as Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. According to their legends, they are the descendants of the children of the Sun, the creators of fire and disease, and the protectors of the "inner Earth".
Their oral legends speak of the existence of an entrance to the earth. Until 1907, the Makushi entered some kind of cave and traveled underground for 13 to 15 days until they reached the inner world. It is there, “on the other side of the world, in the inner Earth”, that giants live, creatures about 3-4 meters in height.
According to legend, the Makushi were supposed to guard the entrance to the "Hollow Earth" and in no case let strangers there. "Legends from the Makushi people state that those who enter the mysterious cave travel for three days, only going down a giant staircase, in which each step is about 80 cm."

After the third day, they left their torches and continued on their way to “the land illuminated by the lights that were already present in the caves. Giant lanterns, the size of a watermelon and shining brightly like the sun."
After 4-5 days of travel, those inside the cave lost weight and body mass, which allowed them to move much faster.
Legends of the Makusi people say that after 5 days of travel they came across huge caves, the ceilings of which could not be seen, and in one of the chambers in the cave system there are four “solar” objects that cannot be seen, whose purpose is unknown to the Makusi people.
There are places inside the Earth where fruit trees grow. Makushi say that grapes, mangoes, bananas, and some smaller plants could be found after 6-7 days of travel. The further they deepened, the more vegetation was encountered on the way. But not all areas are green and prosperous. The Makushi say that some places are extremely dangerous and should be avoided, such as boiling rocks and azoge streams.
After passing through these giant chambers, they had to move carefully because the mysterious air "could make people fly or swim" around.
Giants lived at the destination. When they met, the latter treated the Makushi to their food, where apples were the size of human heads, grapes the size of a human fist, and "delicious and giant fish were caught by the giants and presented to Makushi as gifts."

After a short stay in the bowels of the earth, the Indians returned back - to guard the entrance to the underworld, filled with incredible strength and wealth.
The Europeans, who appeared on the lands of the Indians after the discovery of America, did not take this whole legend seriously, but they liked the gold "presented by the giants to Makushi." Using cunning, the conquistadors found out their secret from the Indians - about a cave leading to the underworld. And after finding out, they treacherously violated all the rules, going there for gold and other riches, which even the Children of the Sun themselves had no idea about. But none of them came back.
Makushi failed to cope with their main task, allowing aliens into mysterious caves. They themselves lost contact with the underworld and the giants that inhabited it. And the story itself has become a legend.
But is it not real?
After all, the "hollow" Earth exists in many ancient civilizations. The existence of giant creatures that inhabit our planet is another fact found in dozens of ancient cultures around the world, even in religious texts such as the Bible.
