In the mid-50s of the last century, in the Karakum Desert, near the Aral Sea, geologists, having finished their work, were waiting for a car that was supposed to take them to the base about 50 kilometers away. For some reason, the car did not arrive on time, and the head of the field detachment, a young Leningrad "geologist", took the risk of leading the entire group of four to the base on foot, since she knew the surroundings. This path could be done only by moving at night or in the early morning, when the Asian sun had not yet had time to heat the earth and air. However, having made one night transition, the boss realized in the morning that she was lost! The entire group would probably have died soon, since the drinking water taken with them was already running out. But people were lucky in the sense that an old Kazakh burial ground “appeared” nearby - a small adobe construction with an entrance. A fertile coolness remained inside it.
Meanwhile, the car arrived for the geologists soon after they left. The driver, not finding people, returned to the base, where the head of the expedition raised the alarm. The days of the disappeared were searched for by car in the vicinity of the geologists' field camp - all in vain. Then they turned for help to a local Kazakh - Tengiz Sultanbekov for help. He was a Muslim believer who more than once helped geologists find artesian water using an ordinary vine. Tengiz asked for a "UAZ" and went to the place where the geologists had left. There he performed namaz, after which he asked the head of the expedition who was accompanying him - were there people of the Muslim faith among the missing? Of the four missing, only one cook turned out to be a Kazakh, but, however, she regularly prayed. “Then everything is correct,” Tengiz announced and asked the driver to go in the indicated direction. The "UAZ" had not driven even 15 kilometers when the head of the detachment ran out of the burial ground at the noise of the engine and began waving her handkerchief. The group was saved and the Kazakh, of course, was thanked. When asked how he managed to find people in the endless desert so quickly, Tengiz replied: “Allah helped. Your prayer for salvation was heard by the Almighty. " And he pointed to the cook. She really prayed for salvation while in the burial ground.

On October 13, 1972, a Fairchild Uruguayan airline with 45 passengers on board and 5 crew members took off from the concrete strip of Montevideo and headed west towards the Chilean capital of Santiago. It was a special flight that the Uruguayan rugby players used to go to the match with the Chileans. Although the flight duration was just over two hours, the flying conditions in this area of South America are not entirely favorable. The pilots' skill consisted in overcoming the mountains and steeply descending down to the Pacific Ocean. Probably, the navigator made an inaccuracy in plotting the course, since the commander of the Fairchild, coming out of the clouds, saw a rapidly approaching mountain peak in front of him! In the remaining moments, he still managed to turn the car to the left and thus avoided a frontal impact. However, the airliner still hooked the top with its wing,after which the fall began. A gentle and deeply snow-covered mountain slope along which the Fairchild, falling apart, slid to a complete stop, saved from inevitable loss of life. Recovering from shock, the passengers realized that many were lucky to survive. However, 17 people were dead and several were injured. The survivors were confident that help would come immediately, but they miscalculated.
Measures taken
The search for the airliner began shortly after it disappeared from the radar screen and did not get in touch. For several days, the search group combed the Andean highlands, but the plane sank into the ground! The relatives of the missing, for their part, also made efforts to search. One of the elderly mothers turned to a resident of Montevideo, known for discovering underground springs with the help of willow twigs. She showed the psychic a map of the mountains where the disaster occurred, and he, having conjured over it with a dowsing frame, indicated the place where the plane crashed. In vain did the mother persuade the authorities to send rescuers there. She was politely replied that the area had already been surveyed, but no one had been found there.

The rescue

Conclusions of the Commission of Inquiry
The decryption of the black boxes showed that the airliner crashed due to the fault of the crew, who ignored the instructions of the air traffic controller when approaching the Andes. The opinion of passengers and their relatives was not taken into account. The outraged victims, having learned that the psychic correctly indicated the place of the disaster, but did not listen to his opinion, filed a lawsuit against the head of the rescue service. However, the court did not support the complainants. The judge agreed that the passengers really stayed at the point indicated by the medium, but, firstly, there was no village nearby, which the psychic also spoke about, and secondly, the rescuers acted in accordance with the instructions, where there are no instructions on attracting psychics there was no trace of rescue work.
