The most important postulate of the spiritual and esoteric tradition is the principle of mentality: everything in the universe has a living, conscious nature, everything is a particle of the Great Reason. The entire visible world possesses consciousness, and any ordered system maintains its integrity only due to the presence of a rational principle in it.
The higher the form of consciousness, the more complex the material structure of the object in which it resides. What happens to the body if the subtle essence leaves it? It turns to dust: a single system is destroyed, transformed to simple foundations. But these foundations are not devoid of consciousness, just their form of mentality is simpler and lower in the hierarchy level.
In scientific theory, there is a heated debate about the essence of consciousness. Some researchers equate this phenomenon with the ability of self-identification in the world. And then, based on the official information of the scientific world, only the human mind and several species of mammals fall into this category. But the esoteric tradition, based on the law of hierarchy, concludes that the human mind is only one of the possible forms of consciousness, which occupies the highest step on the ladder of evolution of the biological world, but not in the entire universe.

Recent experiments have shown that elephants, dolphins, and some of the great apes are capable of self-identification. In particular, they are able to recognize themselves in the mirror and notice changes in their appearance.

There is only one difference that separates us from animals: people are the first creatures on the path of the evolution of reason, having the ability to consciously influence reality, in another way - to creativity. According to ancient spiritual traditions, God created man in his own image and likeness. He created people as creators, giving them freedom of choice, and this is his love and the highest gift to humanity. Therefore, good and evil exist exclusively for a person, and only a person is able to assess his own actions and events of the surrounding world.
The human mind is the highest form of consciousness among the biological species known to science on planet Earth. But it is foolish to believe that the path of evolution is completed on this. This is the law: we can see clearly what is below. And what is higher is revealed only as a result of the achievement.
