The origin of life is accompanied by vortices that begin to "rage" in the egg.

“In a whirlwind of events” - this seemingly exclusively allegorical expression has a direct biological meaning. Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), led by Nikta Fakhri, have recorded the mysterious wave processes accompanying the fertilization of an egg - that is, conception. Specifically, they discovered and even photographed vortices that cascade along its surface. The phenomenon was reported by the ScienceAlert portal, citing a scientific publication in the journal Nature.

Fakhri and his charges investigated the mysterious phenomenon, observing through a microscope the fertilization of eggs of sea stars, the proteins of which were tinted with luminous substances. They made it possible to visualize vortices sweeping across cell membranes for several minutes after fertilization.

Scientists figured out the essence of the process, but did not fully understand its meaning. They only assumed that vortices - waves of turbulence, scientifically speaking, somehow direct cell division in a certain way. They send billions of proteins to specific addresses - the places where certain organs are formed.

“Without these proteins that create waves, there would be no cell division,” says ScienceAlert.

The researchers believe that they have discovered some fundamental natural phenomenon that is characteristic of both living and nonliving matter, micro and macrocosm. For some reason, vortices twirl everything in the world - from galaxies to cyclones and hurricanes in the atmosphere of the Earth and other planets. From electrical fields in the heart and brain to, it turns out, proteins in the egg.
