"Black Friday" in Russian is a dubious holiday, and our sales are fraught with pitfalls.

Black Friday, or Black Friday, is the best day of the year for true shopaholics, as this day is marked by breathtaking sales. Traditionally "Black Friday" falls in the period from November 23 to 29.

What is Friday and why is it black?

The Black-Friday holiday originated in the USA, where discounts in stores on this day reach 90%. This day opens the season of Christmas sales. Traditionally, Americans buy electronics, household appliances, gifts. And this Friday was called black because in American accounting, profit is recorded in black, and loss - in red. Therefore, Black Friday is a “profitable Friday”, therefore it is exactly black.

In Russia, "Black Friday" appeared in 2013. And for the fourth year in a row our stores, like in America, have been promising good discounts. However, "Black Friday" in Russian is a dubious holiday, and our sales are fraught with pitfalls. Basically, it's just a way to grab the attention of buyers.

What stones are we talking about?

Promotional video:

As you might guess, not about those that are in the kidneys. But seriously, they like to arrange games with price tags at Russian sales. That is, the price tags are left untouched, and the SALE inscriptions are glued on the windows. As a result, things are sold at the same price. It happens that prices for products are increased, and then crossed out and written below the real price. The buyer gets the impression that he is making a bargain.

“I looked at the store for a blouse with a 30% discount, its new price was 1990 rubles. I bought it, came home, I saw a piece of the previous price tag peeping out from under the price tag. I tear it off, and under it the price is 1490 rubles. But further - more, under it there is another price tag, fortunately, the last, the initial price of the blouse - 990 rubles. Well what can I say, I bought it profitably”, - the reader Tatiana Kataeva shared her personal experience.

Bad luck with the blouse. What else to look for?

In stores, on shelves and hangers under the sign of 70%, goods are mixed with promotions and without. Already at the checkout, it may become clear that the discount applies only to a certain item, and you have chosen an item at a regular price. This trick may not even be noticed if you buy several things at once. It seems to be not a crime, but if you are inattentive, you will pay extra.

From time to time, stores announce promotions, but then there is a small clarification that they are valid only at the time of advertising. Surprisingly, on the same evening, having arrived at the right address, you will find out that the discounts are over. And this also happens.

Is it true that it is profitable to buy household appliances on Black Friday?

In America, yes. Russian electronics and household appliances stores assure that on this day it is also possible to buy the right thing profitably from us. Note that such serious and large purchases need to be especially careful.

Marriage is not uncommon here. Often, reanimated goods are delivered to the store from the supplier, but at a discount ranging from 30 to 50%. A repaired product can be recognized by the REF or Refactoring sticker on the packaging.

And even in the days of large-scale sales in home appliance stores, real excitement and verification of goods is carried out quickly or the client completely refuses it. There are times when a defect is detected already at home. Returning it back is not easy. Sellers sin by misleading the consumer, convincing that the promotional product cannot be returned or exchanged. This is a violation of the buyer's rights.

And cheating on the internet?

On the official website of Black Friday in Russia, more than 200 online stores and online services are announced by the participants of the sale.

However, according to numerous reviews of past years, we can conclude that not all online stores participate in Black Friday honestly. There are cases of fake discounts.

“Last year on one of the sites I specially wrote down the prices before the start of this Friday and then compared them with the discount ones. They have increased! Sheer deception. And if there were discounts, then 3-5%, but not 50% or 70%,”Alexander Kurbakov shared his experience.
