Scientists in the US are working on miniature drones to pollinate flowers, but they admit they can be hacked and used as a weapon against humans.
The science fiction series Black Mirror appears to have predicted the future in one episode. We are talking about the episode "Enemy of the People", in which scientists create miniature drones to replace real bees, but they are hacked and forced to kill people.
According to the Daily Star tabloid, American scientists have embarked on a plan to create a swarm of robot bees, who (as in the aforementioned series) promise that remotely controlled drones will be able to pollinate the colors and thereby prevent the extinction of many plant species.
“Now we are trying to understand why (on Earth) bee colonies are dying. This (drone creation) is a backup plan. When the climate changes, as in California, many trees die, but this is just the beginning. Insects, birds, or animals are likely to die next. Therefore, you need to have a safety net,”the professor explained the need for his project.
At the same time, Shekhar acknowledged that drone bees can be hacked and with their help, for example, chemicals can be delivered to where attackers need.
