All the characters in The Last Supper are depicted without halos, and in this the Italian scientist Mario Taddey saw the answer to Leonardo da Vinci's painting.
The Italian said that the artist's idea was to show the people in the painting and Jesus not as “saints” but as “common people,” reports The Daily Mail.
“I believe that Leonardo did not show the halos, because I believed that the people depicted in the picture are mere mortals, and this is Leonardo's true secret. There are no extraterrestrial or supernatural objects in the painting. Leonardo wanted to say that these are 13 ordinary people. And that says a lot,”explains Taddey.
