In Bosnia, near the city of Visoko, archaeologists have discovered a unique stone ball up to one and a half meters in diameter, The Telegraph reported.

It is assumed that its age is at least 15 thousand years. Scientists in different regions of the world have repeatedly found similar balls of different diameters. There is still no answer to the question about their creators and the purpose of the balls.

According to Bosnian archaeologist Semir Osmanagic, the stone ball has an "extremely high iron content" and reaches 1.5 meters in diameter. He believes that the ball could have been created by representatives of ancient civilizations. A perfectly correct sphere cannot be a creation of nature, the archaeologist is sure.

A stone ball was found on the Temple of the Hill. According to Osmanagich, the hill is an ancient pyramid 220 meters high. Mount Visochica began to be called the Pyramid of the Sun, in the manner of the Mexican pyramids, with which it has much in common due to its truncated top. The proximity of the pyramids suggests the artificial origin of the stone ball, the archaeologist believes.

There are other stone balls

This is not the only stone ball found in Bosnia. Stone spheres have been discovered in Maglaz and Zavidovichi, where the Archaeological Park "Bosnian Stone Balls" is now open. Found similar stone balls with different diameters in Germany, Orenburg, Volgograd, Irkutsk regions.

In Germany, in the Eiffel, an explosion of a quarry rolled out a perfectly round stone ball with a diameter of 5 meters and weighing more than 100 tons. Several balls up to 2 meters in diameter were found on Franz Josef Land. There are stone balls in the South Urals.

At the bottom of the Black Sea, at a depth of 10-25 meters near Gelendzhik, scientists managed to find stone balls with a diameter of 0.7 to 1 meter. The smallest of them was raised to the surface and found out that it is of artificial origin.

On the surface of the ball, a "side" and an X-shaped cut were visible. In South and Central America, a scattering of balls was found, from small ones up to 10 centimeters in diameter to giant ones, the diameter of which reached three meters and weighing up to 20 tons.

Moreover, they were made of different materials - from volcanic rocks to granite. The balls were found both on the surface of the earth and partially buried. In Mexico, similar balls were found in silver mines, and in Guatemala - in the mountains at an altitude of over 2 thousand meters.

Who created the balls?

Some scientists suggest that the stone balls were created by the inhabitants of Atlantis or aliens. Their correct form suggests this idea. According to archaeologists, measurements of the diameters with a tape (in five directions) and a plumb line showed that small irregularities of the balls are no more than 2 mm. Especially amazing are the giant balls of solid granite materials that modern mankind cannot create with such precision.

The famous researcher of anomalous phenomena and great dreamer Erich von Däniken called the stone balls "balls played by the gods."

Supporters of natural origin balls

The aliens have nothing to do with it, say opponents of the version of the artificial origin of the balls. These could be "ferruginous nodules" that form when sediments are compacted in coal deposits, said Alexei Korolkov, associate professor at the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Irkutsk State University.

Gradually, the stratifications turn into a ball, as the substance is deposited equally in all directions, he explained. Other scientists believe that the balls are formed by crystallization of volcanic magma or filling voids with foreign matter. Also, the ball could have formed as a result of the deposition of rock mineral cement, they explained.

Thus, the question of the origin of the balls and their purpose remains open. Stone balls are just one of the mysteries of the planet. I can't believe that nature could create such perfectly round shapes, noted Natalya Meshalkina, director of the Ust-Ilimsk local history museum. The balls are found together with coal, which is already several tens of millions of years old.

However, according to the accepted theory of evolution, humans did not yet live, she noted. So who created them?
