In some countries, there are truly original love customs that can impress the uninitiated. For example, in Nigeria, the Bororo tribe celebrates the end of the rainy season (Vorso holiday) every year. During the holiday, all the young men of the tribe apply a large layer of makeup on their face (applying makeup can take a week), including ocher and fat. Further, the adorned young men take part in a kind of beauty contest, judged by ten beauties. The boys dance, and the girls choose their partners from them.
The people of Nuba live in Sudan, in whose customs there is also a "holiday of choosing a husband." During this festival, potential husbands dance, and the women of the tribe choose their spouse. Girls on the occasion of this holiday make ritual wounds and cuts on themselves. When a girl chooses one of the boys, they indulge in public erotic games. However, the couple will be able to live together only after the potential spouse builds their own home for them.
In the south of India, there is the Soundatti temple, where an interesting ceremony takes place several times a year. The parishioners visit the temple and leave money and other donations, for which they receive the right to make “maitun” (“salutary intercourse”) with young men (“jogappa”) and girls (“jogamma”). These acts of love are performed in the name of the goddess Yellam, who is called the "mother of the world."
In Pakistan, the Kalash tribe lives in the Hindu Kush settlement, which celebrates the holiday of love and fertility. The holiday is interesting because on its eve the girls of the tribe hold a competition in foul language (they believe that this scares away evil spirits). And then they arrange a sacrifice (they slaughter a hundred sheep) and begin to indulge in amorous pleasures.
In Tibet, in the north of Nepal, the Ning-Ba tribe lives, which stands out for its customs regarding marriage. In this tribe, a woman owns the land, so local ladies give their daughters in marriage to several men (they will work on the land that belongs to the spouse). The one of the husbands who was the first to sneak into the bedroom of the "joint" wife leaves his shoes near her entrance, showing the others that the place has already been taken. In New Guinea, during the cricket championships (they are now replacing the traditional tribal games there), it is customary to spend the night with a new partner, which is what all the inhabitants of the islands enjoy.
