Unique artifacts were discovered by archaeologists during excavations in the city of Perge in the Turkish province of Antalya. According to media reports, the most valuable finds should be considered mosaic images of the Gorgon Medusa, as well as the Ocean God.

The mosaics were created in the 3rd century AD, scientists said. They decorated the walls of the mausoleum found during archaeological research.

As you know, specialists from the University of Istanbul have been carrying out large-scale excavations in Perge for the fourteenth year. According to the researchers, during all this time it is possible to find one unique find after another. But the found mosaics are difficult to compare in importance with other artifacts.

Now scientists are doing everything in their power to prevent the ancient mosaics from being affected by the atmosphere. However, scientists are not going to hide them from the human eye. In the future, tourist routes will be planned in such a way that guests of the city can admire the image of the Gorgon Medusa and other ancient artifacts.
