The most haunted British house was put up for sale after its owner was frightened by the ghost "Satan's goat", writes Metro. Vanessa Mitchell, 43, who has run the house for the past 11 years, said she was completely unaware of its history. She moved into the house in 2004, buying it for £ 148,000.

The house, known as The Cage, was a medieval prison owned by one of the world's most famous witch hunters. Eight women died within its walls in the 16th century.

Vanessa claims to have seen a large number of ghosts while living here and says that she was even pushed in the back when she was eight months pregnant. The woman also saw drops of blood on the floor. Despite this, Vanessa lived in her house for over ten years, becoming its second long-term owner. The previous owners sold the house no more than four years after they settled in it.

Now Vanessa has decided to put the building up for auction. The reason for this was a selfie in which behind her was "the goat of Satan", which, according to her, proves that the devil's power is at work in the house. “I truly believe the house is cursed. I have lived here for many years, but seeing a tall, dark figure standing between me and my son's bed was the last straw,”says Vanessa.
