Sigiriya is an impressive stone plateau in the center of Sri Lanka, with a city that seems to have a lot, from gardens to fountains, a monastery and other buildings.

Traditionally, it is worth starting with the official story, which raises many questions for me. King Kassapa I built a fortress or city (as it pleases), at the end of the 5th century AD, of course, with the help of his slaves.

In general, there are several versions of the story with the construction of this fortress, if someone wants to know about all versions in more detail, all of this can be found, but I think it makes no sense to list several versions.

It is worth mentioning the history of the discovery, as I note this in every article related to amazing ancient objects. Found a fortress on a huge rock in 1907, despite the fact that the rock is in the center of the island and can be seen from afar.

In addition, the Europeans found the fortress for some reason, although the island is located next to India. All this I lead to the fact that about 100-150 years ago, the world was completely rediscovered and says too much about it. But you shouldn't dwell on this, now it's worth getting to know the fortress better.

It is worth starting at the entrance, where you can see the remains of a lion of incredible size. One of his claws, the size of a man, and what was the lion himself and what happened to him, historians have no idea.

Unfortunately, only ruins remained of many buildings, but even this is enough in our time to assess the entire scale of work and resources spent by an unknown civilization.

In the city, almost everything is made of bricks, where this material can be seen at every step. It is difficult to answer where so much material came from and how it was delivered to the mountain, 200 meters high.

And now, closer to the city itself. It’s worth starting with strange marks in the stones, it’s like testing some technology, weapons or softening the stone. Why it was done, one can only guess, but this is found almost all over the world.

Processing in the city is also of very different levels. This is both an obvious rough work and perfectly polished fragments with regular geometric shapes, created in an unknown way.

In general, for a long time I already wrote an article, in two whole parts and the smallest details about Sigiriya, so now it does not make much sense anymore.

The most important thing worth noting is the huge scale of the work, the material that appeared from nowhere, as well as the official history, according to which, the fortress was allegedly built in 10-15 years in the 5th century.

From all of the above, I can draw a conclusion exactly the same as about many other ancient objects. The fortress once belonged to a civilization unknown to us, after which it was already occupied by ancient civilizations. This is explained by the difference in the level of technology and processing, which can be seen in the fortress itself.

The official version of the creation is also a fiction, not to mention the fact that there are several of these versions and they all sound like some kind of fairy tale.

The only question is how many years the fortress is actually and what kind the city had in the distant past, but it is impossible to answer this question.
