Breakthrough Listen, which was created in mid-2015 by British astrophysicist Stephen Hawking and Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, has yielded first results. Many studies have been carried out, as a result of which 11 potential traces of the existence of alien life have been discovered.
At the same time, according to Russian astronomer Nikolai Lagin, the detected radio signals must first of all be deciphered and analyzed in order to determine whether they are of extraterrestrial origin.
As noted by Andrew Simion, an employee of the SETI center at the University of Berkeley, scientists have not yet been able to find a single definite trace of the existence of extraterrestrial life, but the search is only at an early stage. What has been done in the framework of this project makes it possible to conduct more systematic and deeper searches.
The Breakthrough Listen project was created specifically to search for traces of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. About one hundred billion dollars were allocated for its creation.
