Once upon a time, people blindly trusted myths. Today, the explanation of the incomprehensible is the lot of science. But despite all the achievements of scientists, something remains unanswered. After such stories, we willy-nilly begin to believe in mysticism and bypass the damned lands.
Bulavan Island
Bulavan is a small island in Indonesia with a long history of notoriety.
The island became widely known after the American pilot Willie van der Haadj crashed in 1989, but managed to get to Bulavan.
The pilot spent about three years here, having studied literally every inch of the earth.
He was struck by deep wells of artificial origin, which led to underground caves. Going down into one of them, the American found four small jars filled to the brim with round gold coins.

A few days later, the pilot was rescued by the captain of a passing ship, who suddenly received a distress signal from the island.
After returning home, Haadj gave several interviews, where he constantly repeated about the anomaly of the island.
He gave the coins for examination, but scientists were unable to determine their origin. From this they concluded that coins were a means of payment on the territory of some high-tech extinct civilization. Perhaps even Atlantis.
Information about the gold quickly leaked to the press and whole crowds of treasure hunters rushed to Bulavan. Many of them did not return empty-handed, but they did not live long.
The first person to die was the American pilot himself. The man's mutilated body was found in his own apartment. Later, unnatural death overtook other treasure hunters.
Gaiola Island
Another cursed island is located in the Gulf of Naples off the coast of the Campania region.
In fact, Gajola is two small islands connected by a bridge. There is a villa on one of the pieces of land, but for many years no one lives here: this land is considered deadly.
The first victim of the island was its owner Hans Brown. In 1920 he was killed, but the killer was never found. Soon, under strange circumstances, his wife drowned. The next owner of the island - German Otto Grunbeck - died of a heart attack.
Another owner of the island - Maurice Sandoz - committed suicide.
Death and destruction followed other people who dared to buy Gaiola. Soon, rumors about the island spread throughout the country and no one else dared to live here.
Devil island
There is an island in the Gulf of Mexico where no one lives. Because of its terrible fame, people call this place Devil's Island.
It all started in 1611, when the captain of a pirate ship left his wounded crew here. He promised to return in a week, but something went wrong, and he showed up only a month later.
Coming ashore, the pirate found no one: there were only empty huts, abandoned weapons and a broken cross.
After a while, another pirate decided to land on the island to hide the stolen treasures there. But the captain's mate and his accomplices decided to escape from the ship at night, taking valuables. In the morning, a storm broke out, raging for two days. When the pirates finally reached the island, they found no rebels or gold.
In the 50s of the XX century, a descendant of one of the pirates found an ancestor's diary and went to the island to try his luck. Together with the expedition, he landed ashore. Nobody else heard anything about them. Only after a while the wreckage of their tents and yachts were found at sea. The bodies were nowhere to be found.
In 1986, the millionaire Saures sailed to the island on his luxury yacht. Three men and three women were thirsty for adventure. A week later, the Coast Guard discovered the abandoned yacht, but there was no one on the island.
The island was searched and one woman was found - she fell into a pit and was unconscious. Alas, on the way to the hospital, she died without shedding light on what had happened.
