British resident Mark Steele lives in the town of Gateshead in Tyne and Wear, which is allegedly undergoing secret tests of new street lamps. Steele said the lights are also testing 5G (fifth generation mobile communications) technology and emitting radiation that causes cancer, insomnia, nosebleeds and even miscarriages in locals.
UK telecoms regulator Ofcom has reported that it plans to massively roll out 5G technology across the UK by 2020, including streetlights. Confirms that this is the technology of the future, and rumor has it at Gateshead that there may be preliminary secret tests of this technology.
Steele is not the only adherent of this conspiracy theory, and public unrest among the locals was so strong that the city authorities were forced to issue an official appeal, in which all rumors were debunked and denied any harmful radiation and the use of 5G in flashlights.
New city lights are switched on and off remotely via wireless communication. Conspiracy theorists believe that transmitters are secretly attached to these lights and that the whole is part of a mysterious scheme to test the potential of the 5G network, which could lead to dire risks to human health.
Mark Steele, 58, claims that Gateshead women are losing their babies late in gestation due to this radiation and that many of the local sparrows have already been destroyed by the mysterious radiation.
On April 9, 2018, a post-denial appeared on the Facebook page of the Gateshead City Council that there is no 5G in the lanterns and that these lanterns "will not give you cancer and will not cause miscarriages in pregnant women." A Council spokesman also said the city had spoken with British public health officials about street lamps and that experts confirmed that there was "no risk." And also that the flashlights use old technologies of 2G / 3G networks.
However, Mark Steele was not satisfied with this message. He states that there are people in the city who cannot even sleep normally from neurological disorders due to the new lanterns. He also stated that there weren't as many late miscarriages and cancers in the city until these lanterns appeared.

Curiously, in December 2017, a study conducted in the United States confirmed the harm to human health from many emitting devices, such as Wi-Fi and mobile phones. And also that such radiation increases the risk of miscarriage in pregnant women by almost 50 percent.
Scientists from the Kaiser Permanente Research Department in Oakland, California, based on the results of this study, recommended that pregnant women reduce contact with mobile phones and Wi-Fi to a minimum, and even try not to use speakerphone during calls.
