Humanity is likely to die not from the fall of a huge asteroid or comet to Earth, but as a result of the eruption of a supervolcano, say officials from the United States National Aerospace Agency, looking anxiously at Yellowstone.
“Studying the processes that take place inside the Yellowstone supervolcano, we do not see anything good at all. All indications are that Yellowstone will awaken in the foreseeable future and provoke a catastrophe of incredible proportions. A few years ago, it was believed that nothing could be done with a supervolcano threatening all of humanity - they say, you need to sit and wait until it begins to erupt and destroy everyone.
But now there is hope for salvation - scientists are going to drill a well to the inner chamber of the volcano and reduce the pressure level in it.
Thus, the threat of eruption is expected to be reduced. Well, or vice versa - increased.
