But most likely, he visited the Balearic Islands, since the Carthaginians in 200 BC. owned these islands, therefore, Hannibal's foot, possibly, set foot on the island of Es Vedra.
Another legend says that the island is the tip of the sunken Atlantis. There is also a beautiful legend that it was on this island that Odysseus listened to the "singing of miraculous sirens" - mythical female creatures (mermaids) who lured sailors with their singing, and then killed them.
According to the description of the ancient Greek storyteller Homer in the poem "The Odyssey", the "goddess of the goddesses" Circe warns Odysseus about the chants of the insidious sirens living on the island, past which the ship must sail: met with them. Whoever, unknowingly approaching them, hears their voice, will never return home. Neither spouse nor children will ever run to meet him with a joyful cry. The sirens will charm him with their sonorous song …”.
And Odysseus heard the songs of the sirens, while the ship approached the island, but survived thanks to Homer, Circe and his friends, who tightly tied him with straps to the mast of the ship!
