It is scary to imagine the damage caused to cultural and historical values that were exhibited there or were in storage. According to some reports, at least some of the historical relics were removed before the roof and spire collapsed. Various statues and stained-glass windows will undoubtedly suffer, as well as various elements of interior decoration.
The commander of the firefighters of Paris said that now his people are focused on saving the western part of the cathedral and are trying to contain the spread of the fire.
