The mummified body of a woman who died back in 2012 was accidentally found in an apartment at 57 Stachek Street in Yekaterinburg.
The remains of Lyudmila Korotaeva were found by accident, thanks to the flood. Three weeks ago, a riser burst that runs through the woman's apartment. The communal workers, together with the police, opened the door of the apartment.
A source of "URA. Ru" in law enforcement agencies said that a leak in the kitchen was found quickly, but after that a terrible find was made: a woman's mummy was lying on the bed in the room. The body was under the covers. Apparently, the woman's death occurred in a dream. For some reason, the body did not decompose. It was mummified, so the neighbors did not smell.
According to the last paid utility bills, it was established that the body had been in the apartment for more than four years. Little is known about the deceased: her name is Lyudmila Nikolaevna Korotaeva, born in 1945. The neighbors recalled that before retirement, a quarter of a century ago, a woman worked as a teacher. She had a daughter, but no one saw her for a long time either. The residents of the house know each other little, practically do not communicate, so no one noticed the disappearance of the person.
This is not the first such find in the Sverdlovsk region. A similar incident occurred in Nizhnyaya Tura in March 2009. Then the gasmen opened the apartment of a lonely pensioner Alexander Khryashchev. His mummified body was found in the apartment. According to documents and newspapers, it was then established that the mummy had been in the apartment for 13 years. Then none of the neighbors noticed anything either.
