In Ethiopia, a man was arrested after he failed to resurrect a dead person. It is reported by "BBC".
Getayaukal Ayele, who called himself a prophet, promised the family of Belai Bifta, who died in a car accident a few days ago, to bring him back to life. In support of his words, he cited the story of Lazarus, who was resurrected by Jesus Christ.
Having appeared together with the relatives of the deceased at the cemetery, the "prophet" ordered to open the grave and open the coffin. After that, he lay down on top of the corpse and shouted several times: "Belay, wake up!" A church worker tried to interfere with this process several times, but the Bift family drove him out.
An attempt to resurrect the dead was unsuccessful. Then the false prophet tried to escape from the cemetery, but he was stopped by angry relatives: they pounced on Getajaukal and began to beat him.
The massacre was prevented by the police who arrived in time to the scene of the incident. Ayele was taken to the station. What punishment he faces has not yet been specified. He may be accused of abusing the dead, which is a serious crime in Ethiopia.
