The facility is located in a Turkish town called Egil. According to the official history, it is believed that Egil was the "cradle" for many civilizations, one of which is the Assyrians.
It is the construction of this "fortress" that is attributed to the Assyrians. And now, it's worth getting to know the amazing structure itself.
First, it should be said that this is both a tomb and a fortress in one form. As far as we know, some of the rulers of the Assyrians are now buried there, and in the past, accordingly, it was a full-fledged fortress, protected from all sides.
After that, I immediately want to say that, in my opinion, the object belonged to civilizations of different levels and I can explain why this is so.
The "fortress" was built right in the rocks, in the literal sense of the word. That is, passages, rooms, platforms, stairs are hollowed out, in general, absolutely everything for convenience.
But only if you pay attention to the main part of the building, where the platform is located and people swim up there, you can see a lot of interesting things.

The rocks are somehow given the most different, almost ideal cone shapes, pyramidal shapes and some others. In other words, it is almost impossible to do this with primitive tools on such a scale.
But in the same towers, "windows" are noticeable, in which rather uneven forms of a circle are already visible, and they are hollowed out somehow.
And now the question is - Is it possible that a civilization transforming rocks into their ideally geometrically forms will not be able to make an even “window” with a diameter of 50-60 centimeters?
All this means that it is likely that the building belonged to a highly developed civilization of the past, and already the ancient people decided to appropriate the object for themselves. By the way, most likely, it happened all over the world, ancient people took the ruins and remains of something for themselves.
In general, one gets the impression that such towers were made either by some large technique, or by an unknown technology, otherwise it is difficult for me to explain it.
It is also worth mentioning a strange tunnel cut through the rock in an unknown way. Most likely, this was another entrance to the fortress from the water. But I doubt that it is very easy to cut a smooth through tunnel in the rock, and also to make a staircase, with primitive tools.
In general, the structure is truly impressive, but the official version of its creation, in my opinion, is nonsense. Although everyone makes decisions for themselves and the version which they like best.
In any case, we are unlikely to ever know what kind of highly developed civilization existed on Earth and why they built all this.
