It happened in Woodstock, Illinois. At 2:46 a.m. on February 28, 2019, a local resident called 911 at 911.
Excitedly, he said that he had just seen "a mysterious creature, 7-8 feet (2-2.5 meters) tall and completely black." The creature reached the Jewel Osco supermarket when it noticed a person and began to scream heart-rendingly, but then retreated. An eyewitness called this creature a monster from the Dufield Pond.
Recently, The Singular Fortean Society, an American society for researchers of anomalous phenomena, contacted another eyewitness who was in the same place on the same day and also saw this monster.
After that, the investigator Tobias Wayland tried to contact the eyewitness who called 911, but for some reason he did not answer the calls.

Researchers at The Singular Fortean Society report that the McHenry County Fairgrounds and adjacent Dufield Pond were described in another "large winged creature" sighting on February 22nd.
In turn, this entire wooded area is located just 35 miles west of Lake Michigan, where mysterious black flying creatures have been regularly seen since 2017.

Usually something very large was described, like a huge bird, sometimes with glowing eyes (orange, red, or yellow). Sometimes eyewitnesses compared the creature to a large insect or humanoid with arms and legs.
