Thanks to the dominance of science fiction, many have already got used to the idea of teleportation, and it seems that we just need to wait for the development of certain technologies in order to master it. In fact, everything is not so simple. Let's try to evaluate the possibility of mastering it without formulas and abstruse phrases.
Today, one hears most often about quantum teleportation. Every now and then in scientific journals there are articles that report on the next successful experiments on quantum teleportation. As a rule, we are talking about increasing the distance over which it was possible to teleport information about the quantum state of one atom, or even a particle. And here you need to be careful. It’s not about moving an object (for example, an atom), but information about its quantum state. There are more atoms in the human body than there are stars in the visible Universe, and in order to carry out this kind of teleportation of a person, it is necessary not only to analyze and describe each atom in his body, but also all connections in order to collect them in the required order, destroying, by the way, the source.

Such an action seems mathematically impossible, but even if we can create such powerful computers, what about consciousness? It is not tangible and, apparently, has no physical nature, and its “quantum nature” is a marginal direction and has nothing to do with science. Well, apparently, quantum teleportation is only suitable for instantaneous transmission of information, and then, for a start, it would be nice to teleport at least a few atoms.

This method of movement is most often described in fiction, and, in fact, has very little to do with reality. The only explanation for the work of this kind of teleports that comes to mind is the curvature of space-time. In this case, the portal should have a colossal mass and, rather, represent a wormhole, and this is not quite what we are talking about.

The Strugatsky brothers in their science fiction novels prefer to teleport heroes through a special dimension, the coordinates of which correspond to ours, but are compressed many times over. This is not the same as the curvature of space by the gravity of a wormhole. In principle, such a method can even be described from the point of view of physics, but hardly any scientist today is purposefully looking for parallel dimensions to implement teleportation.

Yes, today, as, apparently, and for many years to come, teleportation will remain an attribute of science fiction, and if it is discovered, then, most likely, on principles that we now do not even suspect. But if humanity nevertheless discovers and develops these technologies, it will be difficult to overestimate their importance. Instantaneous movement over huge distances, to other planets and even to other star systems - this is what teleportation is usually associated with, the appearance of which, as a result, will actually erase the boundaries of our world.
