On November 20, 2018, Massachusetts became the seventh state in the United States to allow recreational marijuana purchases. According to the law, all citizens of the country over the age of 21 will be able to bathe up to five grams of marijuana in special stores.
However, only two official cannabis stores have opened in the entire state. The rest still have to get a license for this activity. One of the points appeared in the city of Northampton. Of course, a queue had lined up outside the shop door since nightfall. Together with the rest of the townspeople, the mayor of the city, David Narkewicz, stood in it.
He became the first customer of the store and bought a marijuana bar. “I am proud to be the first person to make a purchase in the state. I think this is a symbolic message to everyone: the elected mayor shows the credibility of an industry that has been stigmatized for years.
