This strange event took place in the afternoon of July 20, when from 11 to 14 pm Yakutia suddenly plunged into darkness. Quite a long time has passed, but there is still no explanation for the phenomenon from the official bodies. At that time, after the "eclipse", a massive death of birds was noted.
Let's start with the most replicated version of what happened, which was voiced by scientists. In their opinion, the reason for the fires, they say, the smoke and ash from them and caused the night in the middle of the day. At the same time, they refer to an unnamed "eyewitness" who said that during the "eclipse" a lot of black dust fell.
"The water in the barrels turned into a mess of mud, and a layer of dust formed on the surface of the lakes."
However, the administration of Nizhne-Bytantaysky nasleg does not confirm this information and say that in fact there was no dust. In the beginning, everything looked like an approaching strong thunderstorm front when it was getting dark outside. So it was this time, but everything looked completely different and very unusual.
The darkness fell gradually and the sky had a yellowish tint until it suddenly became completely dark. What was happening was like a solar eclipse, when some celestial body closes the Sun gradually until it completely blocks the solar disk and darkness falls on the Earth at that moment. But there was no solar eclipse, and even having a similar local character, that day, which is confirmed by the data of astronomers.
In addition, solar eclipses cannot last for three hours, plunging a local area on the Earth's surface into complete darkness.
Local residents have never seen anything like this and what is happening scared many. People started calling the local administration en masse when the sun suddenly went out. Even the old residents of these places do not remember this.

“It really was pitch darkness. It did not come immediately, but gradually. The sun was not visible from 11.30 to 14.00 pm. There was really no dust. We went outside on purpose, many can confirm. No sharp cooling was observed at the time of the "eclipse", but at night the temperature suddenly dropped to -4 degrees."
The temperature dropped to minus 4 degrees! This is a very significant cold snap! Why is it getting colder? The only reasonable explanation is that some huge space object obscured the Sun and caused a complete blockage of sunlight and heat on a local part of the earth's surface, which led to a cooling.
The locality of this anomalous event is surprising. Although it was still not limited to the Eveno-Bytantaysky ulus, and for example, the head of Verkhoyansk, Yevgeny Potapov, said that "the sun did not disappear, but something happened":
“On July 20 we had something like smoke. In any case, we decided that it was. Although there are no fires nearby, the hearth was on the border with Eveno-Bytantai. In general, it was overcast, as if the sun had obscured some kind of dark cloud, or maybe not a cloud. But there was no rain.
At first, we thought that the talk about the surging darkness was just rumors, but then they were confirmed. We also wonder what it could be. Eclipses are usually warned in advance. It might have been a meteorite, but it couldn't have been that big. In general, it is not clear."
It turns out that from the side of neighboring districts everything that was happening looked like a "big cloud" hovered over Eveno-Bytantay, which "covered the Sun". At the same time, there were actually no fires there at that time.
There are reports on the network that American satellites recorded a light flash and an increase in the radiation background in this particular area, but I could not find confirmation of this information, just as I could not confirm rumors that in this area during these Russian military helicopters were spotted in the strange events.
If the Sun were covered by a comet or a huge meteorite that suddenly flew past the Sun, it would not have caused absolutely any eclipse for three whole hours, and even such a localized one.
There were also no astronomical events associated with a solar eclipse.
According to the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation, there are 98 forest fires in Yakutia, and most of them will not be extinguished because the forest burns in places that are hard to reach and remote from settlements. No fire can cause nightfall in the middle of the day for three o'clock, and even more so a sudden cold snap to minus 4 degrees.
It is clear that the version with "smoke from fires" has already become, in fact, "official" and it is on it that the emphasis is being put on. This is understandable, since it will allow at least somehow explain what happened and calm the population.

I think everything will end with what will be announced and necessarily accompanied by "opinions of authoritative scientists" that as a result of a natural fire a cloud of smoke, ash and dust was formed, which hid the Sun.
Locally. For three hours. But the trouble is that there was no wind that day at all, how did the “dense cloud of smoke and dust” from the unknown “hard-to-reach areas” reach the Eveno-Bytantai region? I think they will come up with an excuse for this. They will simply say that the dust was spread in some other way.
Let me remind you that the Eveno-Bytantaysky region does not have any active wildfires nearby.

Now about the consequences of the "eclipse" for living organisms. It is not known about the injured people, but it is already known about the death of birds during the "darkness of Yakutsk". Inhabitants of the Osokhtookh site of the Eginsky district in Verkhoyanye found 20 dead black-headed gulls near the Baibal kuele lake. The number of birds can be much higher.

1) A certain space object, the dimensions of which made it possible to completely cover the solar disk, hung over Yakutia for three hours, thereby blocking the light from the luminary completely, which led to the onset of complete darkness and a drop in air temperature to minus 4 degrees.
The question arises, if such an unidentified space object or an unidentified flying object really appeared in space or in the Earth's atmosphere, then the tracking station could not fail to notice it. Perhaps this explains the appearance of military helicopters in the area. But if helicopters were sent, then the object was not in space, but in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Visually, the object was not observed from the ground for the simple reason that when it entered the dense layers of the Earth's atmosphere, it caused a temperature jump as a result of the friction of air masses and was enveloped in flame and smoke, which hid the object from observers from the ground.
2) A certain unidentified flying object entered the dense layers of the Earth's atmosphere, stopped in the air at one point for three hours, and then landed in an inaccessible and uninhabited region of Yakutia. The appearance of military helicopters in this case is quite justified. Search teams were looking for the landing site of this UFO. It was not a fall, but a landing, since no one saw or heard any explosion.
3) Rumors about a flash in the atmosphere recorded by American satellites over Yakutia. The thing is. that I could not find an official source of this information, and without this all these are just rumors, however, as well as the appearance of military helicopters and an increase in the radiation background. Although the death of birds may indirectly indicate that this event still affected living organisms, but also locally.
4) Versions of "military tests" have not been confirmed by anything, and besides what kind of weapon, test or other artificially created test is capable of plunging a local area of the terrain into complete darkness for three hours, causing a significant drop in temperature and death of birds. In my opinion, no one and the Russian military were involved in this event.
5) Explosion of the satellite. Many satellites belonging to different countries fly in orbit and they have nuclear propulsion systems. It is likely that a satellite malfunctioned, it left orbit and exploded in the dense layers of the Earth's atmosphere over Yakutia. As a result, a dense cloud was formed that blocked the sunlight for three hours and caused the fallout of radioactive materials, which caused the death of birds and in this case the appearance of military helicopters is also justified.
