According to cbs12.com, fishermen who fish off the shores of Palm Beach, Florida, are concerned that sharks are growing and more aggressive in these waters. Recently, there have been two recorded shark attacks on people, causing them serious injuries.

Captain Greg Bogdan knows these waters well and has been working here for three decades and notes that times have changed. Now it has become much more difficult to catch large fish, since there are so many sharks in these waters. Greg says that just yesterday, a big bull shark ate a large fish from the catch in front of the fishermen.

Sharks also attack commercial fishing nets and eat away almost all of their prey.

CBS12 reporters contacted the University of Florida and questioned expert Steven Kajiur about the unusual increase in shark numbers and their aggressive behavior. The expert said that so far they have not carried out thorough research on this issue, but there are probably more sharks and the university leadership is aware of this problem.

- I can guarantee you that you can easily catch a shark here at any time and when you catch it, there will be many other sharks nearby.

The last shark attack to date occurred on 23 October. A woman named Susan Piteka was doing her daily morning swim along the coast at 8 a.m. and a shark attacked her near John D. MacArthur State Park, severely injuring her arm.

At the same time, the woman did not see the shark until the very moment of the attack, the predator appeared suddenly and attacked the man in a place where the depth was only one and a half meters.

The shark gnawed hard on her arm, damaging the tendons, ligaments, nerves and bones. Susan recalls with horror how she saw her blood in the water and pieces of flesh from her own hand. Susan works as a nurse and so, as soon as she got ashore, she immediately tied her arm with a tourniquet so as not to lose more blood.

Susan is now also warning other swimmers that sharks have become more aggressive. Previously, she did not notice this, although before that she swam hundreds of times in the ocean in these places.

The woman, with sobs, recalls how immediately after the shark attack, she thought she would die and even asked to bring the priest to the hospital. According to doctors, it will take more than a year for Susan to fully recover and it is not a fact that after that the hand will be in working order.
