A family from the suburbs of London spent a huge amount on finding the right diagnosis for their son. This is reported by the British edition of the Daily Mail. In January 2018, 16-year-old Valentino Erodotou complained of sharp pain and burning sensation in the chest area. By February, the young man had to go home schooling. Four days later, Valentino began to have difficulty moving and was admitted to the hospital. Doctors tried to treat him for gastritis, but it didn't help. Eight weeks after the first symptoms, the young man lost the ability to walk and now moves in a wheelchair.

Since then, Valentino's parents have spent about £ 35,000 (2.7 million rubles) to find a specialist who can make the correct diagnosis. The private pediatrician who examined the young man also suspected he had gastritis. A homeopath from Cyprus diagnosed him with Lyme disease and prescribed nutritional supplements costing £ 1,200 a month (over 90,000 rubles). Valentino took them for four months, but there was no improvement.

They tried to treat the young man for chronic fatigue syndrome and gluten ataxia, but this did not bring results either. He constantly felt tired and could not move his legs. Since the tomography and blood tests showed nothing unusual, his parents are pinning their hopes on genetic testing and examinations by a rheumatologist and immunologist. Now they are trying to collect the required amount on a crowdfunding service.

“Our duty as parents is to show Valentino that he needs to fight,” says the boy's father. According to him, earlier Valentino led an active lifestyle, but now he is forced to sit at home and communicate with peers only on the Internet. However, despite the difficulties, the young man still attended the school graduation in a wheelchair.
