An encounter with a snake of this incredible size would be the last for any creature on Earth. Titanboa grew 20 meters in length and weighed more than a ton: try to imagine how this wild colossus hunted.

Fortunately, the giant snake became extinct 60 million years ago. At the first excavations where the titanboa skeleton was discovered, scientists at first did not believe their eyes - no one could imagine that snakes, in principle, are capable of growing to such incredible sizes.

The titanboa's lower jaw is four times the size of the giant python's. The prey could not get out of the mortal grip. In theory, if the titanboa opened its mouth, a person could stand inside to their full height.

With such a weight, it was very difficult to move around the creature of the snake. The titanboa spent most of the time underwater, and hunted here. Titaboa shared the ecosystem with giant crocodiles, paleosaurs and ancient turtles - and they all tried to bypass the giant as far as possible.

It is believed that titanboa became extinct a long time ago.
