The girl performed a magic ritual in the cemetery, trying to appear the bravest, but paid for it with her life.
More recently, there was an incident reported by 17-year-old Jackson Scavo. One night, he and his two friends - Linda and Mary walked around the city, frightening each other with scary stories. Jackson decided to talk about a belief that he had known since childhood.
According to him, if you go to the cemetery at night, choose any grave and stand there for ten seconds, and then stick a knife into the ground, then the dead man will come out and drag you to his grave. The girls, of course, laughed at this. But everyone was already excited and, being in a playful mood, went to one of the central cemeteries. Linda turned out to be the most daring.
“She went into the depths of the cemetery very first and stood at one of the graves on the path. Mary and I were funny. But then 10 seconds passed, and she took out a folding knife from her pocket. Without hesitation, she stuck it into the ground. We watched this in silence. And after 30 seconds Linda suddenly began to scream frantically. We were scared, but thinking that she just wanted to scare us, turned around and went home."
The next morning, Linda Mitchell was found dead after her parents informed the police that she had not returned home for the night. She was lying in the same place where her friends had left her, by the old grave.
