If you believe in ghosts, then you are not alone - more than ten thousand people around the world are actively looking for ghosts and places where they can dwell. Researcher Sharon Hill has counted 2,000 amateur ghost hunting teams in America alone.
Otherworldly guests have been a popular theme in many stories over the millennia, from Macbeth to the Bible. Even a special genre has emerged: "ghost stories." Among all the paranormal phenomena, ghosts are perhaps the most interesting. This is partly due to the fact that they are associated with death, life after death and the communication of souls - that is, with what each of us cares about.
The idea that the deceased remains among us in the form of an ethereal spirit has existed since ancient times. Many found consolation in her - who does not want to believe that a loved one who has departed helps, warns of danger and is there in difficult times? Some people's belief in ghosts is based on their own experience - each of them saw or felt the presence of something inexplicable.
But personal experience is one thing, and scientific proof is quite another. The study of ghosts is problematic, in part because there is not even a generally accepted definition for them. Some consider ghosts to be the spirits of the dead, who for some reason "got lost" on their way to another world. Others believe that ghosts are a kind of telepathic entity projected into the real world from our own imaginations.
Still others distinguish between different categories and types of ghosts: poltergeists stuck between "that" and "this" world, intelligent spirits and human "shadows".
Of course, this categorization is sucked from the thumb: it's like talking about different races of fairies or dragons. There will always be as many varieties of ghosts as you want.
There are many controversies surrounding the idea of ghosts. For example, are they material or not? Either they can freely pass through solid objects, or slam doors and throw things. Logically, one thing is possible here.
If ghosts are souls of people, why do they appear clothed and why do such (apparently soulless) objects as hats, canes and dresses appear with them - not to mention ghost trains, cars and carriages?

If ghosts are the souls of victims who are eager to take revenge on their killers and souls can communicate with mediums, then why are many murders still unsolved? Why don't they all share the names of their killers? The inconsistency turns out.
Ghostbusters use many of the most ingenious (and questionable) methods of detecting the presence of spirits. Virtually all of them claim to be guided by science, and most of them impress those around them with high-tech equipment such as detectors, infrared cameras and sensitive microphones. However, none of these devices has yet detected a single ghost.
There is also a completely different position: the existence of ghosts has not been proven simply because the equipment has not yet been invented to allow contact with the spirit world. But this point of view is illogical: either ghosts exist and appear in our physical world (and, therefore, can be photographed, filmed or recorded on audio) or do not exist, but then they do not appear. In the first case, sooner or later, iron proofs had to be found. If ghosts really exist, but it is impossible to fix their appearance, then all photos, videos and other "evidence" of the phenomena are simply fakes.
With so many diverging theories, it’s not surprising that no convincing evidence for the existence of ghosts has been found, despite all the efforts of the "hunters".
Many people are trying to find confirmation of the existence of ghosts in modern physics. It is known that Albert Einstein offered his own scientific basis for this idea: If energy cannot be created or destroyed, if it only changes shape, then what happens to the energy of our body when we die? Could she somehow transform into a ghost?
It would seem quite logical - if you do not know the basics of physics. The answer is simple, and has nothing to do with mysticism. After death, the energy of his body is sent to the same place as the energy of all other living organisms - to the surrounding world. Energy is released in the form of heat and absorbed by animals (wild, if left unburied, or worms and bacteria, if buried) and plants.
But be that as it may, all of us - both those who strongly believe in ghosts and skeptics - we all love good ghost stories.
