Reddit user dauntless38 shared a story about what happened to her son when he was little. In her opinion, a demon came to her child.
“To begin with, I’ll say that it’s not easy to scare me, because people are much more terrible than different Boogeymen. And if I hear a noise somewhere, I always go there and look, and if I see a spider, I kill it.
This story will look like a fake, but it was real and very scary. Now my son (I won't say his real name, but in history I will call him Gavin) is 10 years old, and when he was 4 years old, he started talking about someone whom he called "the Garfield creature."
For me all this was very strange, since it was not Garfield's cat, but the Thing. And he also said that he saw it in a dream and it was scary. He began to wake up screaming and went to sleep in my bed and all this bothered me more and more every time and I began to ask him different questions.
The reason I didn't ask him right away was because he had been playing with imaginary friends since childhood and thus lived in his own little fictional world. He also has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autistic disorder.
This went on for almost a year and I finally got some answers from him. He said that Garfield came to him in a dream and asked him to stay and live in his dream world. The son refused him, but offered to come to his room and live there in his room.
That's when I got really scared and told him that he should never invite any of his “fictional friends” into his room. And then I realized that my son's room was always kind of strange.

My mother, who is more sensitive to such things, never liked to go into her. Also, our cat had never slept in Gavin's room before, and he didn’t like him at all, and then suddenly began to go to him and sleep on his bed next to him.
I don’t know if this is important in this context, but I will say that our family is Catholic and when my son told me about Garfield, I taught him a “spell” that was “Creature Garfield, I am putting a ban on you in the name of Jesus Christ “If this creature comes again and frightens him.
And one night he came to my bed and lay down next to me, while he himself was sleeping on the go, but suddenly he uttered this phrase out loud and distinctly, which frightened me to shock. I remember how I lay and prayed in my mind to God and the saints that they would protect us. It was then that I believed that a demon had attacked him.
Later, I went around all the rooms in our house and prayed in each of them for help to Saint Michael. After that, Garfield's visits to his son almost disappeared and this went on for 2 years. But when Gavin turned 6, it started again.
Gavin was already attending school by then and because of his autism and ADHD, he had a very difficult time, he was very tired. Other children found him immature and did not understand his "childhood" problems. Garfield's return would add even more complexity and I started praying again for it to go away.
Because of his problems, Gavin regularly attended therapy from the age of 4 and after 5 years he had a new doctor, with whom he once shared the story of Garfield. He said that he has problems at school due to the fact that Garfield interferes with his sleep and asks him for different things, and besides, he sees him even when he is already awake.
I don’t know if the doctor believed his son, but he gave him advice, which helped a lot. He told his son to tell Garfield that he could only give him a blanket, since he needed rest. And this simple advice unexpectedly lifted Garfield's hold on my son.
We later moved out of this house and it seems on time. Recently, the son admitted that many years ago, due to unbearable pressure on himself, he even wanted to kill himself.
I consider myself a skeptic, but this whole story was very scary and real. I'm not sure if my son was possessed, but probably something evil was trying to manipulate him."
