By 2050, the climate on our planet may change significantly, say ecologists from the Netherlands.

They conducted a study according to which by this time about 55 billion tons of carbon will be emitted into the atmosphere and soil of our planet if humanity cannot stop the process of global warming.

With this amount of carbon, climate change will only intensify. According to scientists, by the middle of this century, the average annual global temperature may rise by 1 degree Celsius. After that, climate changes will become irreversible. Each further 1 degree increase in temperature will trigger the emission of 30 billion to 300 billion tons of carbon.

As ecologists said, the largest amount of carbon is stored in the soil. Global warming makes all organisms in the soil more active, which means more carbon emissions.

Experts point out that in this case, the situation can be changed only by reducing carbon emissions from human activities. Because with an increase in its amount in the atmosphere, other processes contributing to global warming immediately intensify.
