According to calculations, in the near future, the number of people who develop cancer due to obesity will increase by about 45%. The situation can be changed, experts say, only with the assistance of the state. They cite Mexico as an example, where the introduction of a tax of 10% on sweet soda reduced sales of these drinks by 12% per year.
You can also get manufacturers to reduce the amount of sugar in soda by 40% - such measures will prevent at least 300 thousand cases of diabetes. You can also ban advertising of harmful products on TV. According to scientists, focusing all efforts on reducing sugar intake is the key to a healthier lifestyle.
If the current trends continue, then in 2035 one third of the world's population will suffer from obesity. So, in Britain, being overweight will become a problem for 39% of citizens, and people with a healthy weight will remain in the minority - 28%. In the next 20 years, the number of cases of developing cancer from obesity will also increase by 700 thousand (10 types of this disease are associated with overweight).
