Luis Manuel Gonzalez from Mexico weighed the usual 3.5 kilograms at birth, but now at 10 months old, he weighs 28 kilograms, like the average 9-year-old child.

The baby began to gain weight rapidly after birth and at two months old he was already 11 kilograms. At the same time, his parents Isabelle and Mario assure that their son in no way overeats, but at the same time mysteriously gaining weight very quickly.

Isabelle, 24, is convinced that the problem stems from the fact that she has "very good breast milk." However, she is now also very concerned about the condition of her son.

Obesity threatens the baby with big problems and his desperate parents, after months of anxiety, finally decided to take Luis to a local hospital. Doctors were also surprised by his condition.

Presumably the child has Prader-Willi syndrome. a rare hereditary disorder characterized by increased appetite and weak muscle tone. However, Louis does not consume large quantities of food and does not require food from morning to evening, which is usually the case with this syndrome.

Luis has an older brother, Mario, who is now three years old and a normal child of normal weight. Louis has long overtaken his older brother in kilograms.

Now, almost every day, his parents bring Luis in a wheelchair to the hospital for numerous examinations and tests.

Promotional video:

“It hurts me to watch the nurses try to find a vein in my son’s arm every time and get lost in the folds of fat,” the boy’s father sighs.

Recently, due to the large weight of the baby, the stroller on which he was being carried broke down. The child himself, due to the large weight, cannot crawl, does not even try to get up and start learning to walk, he can only sit.

The hope for this family comes from the physician Sylvia Orozco, who specializes in nutritional issues. She has sent the child's tests to a clinic in the United States and is awaiting results.

In her opinion, Louis does not have Prader-Willi syndrome, but a malfunction of the internal glands, which was caused by a lack of certain nutrients in his mother's food during pregnancy.

If this turns out to be true, the child will be treated with special hormonal drugs. However, this treatment is very expensive, it will cost over $ 500 per injection, and Luis's father earns only $ 200 per month. This family cannot afford such treatment. Therefore, Luis's father recently opened a Facebook page where he asks people for financial help for his son's treatment, and also opened a bank account.
