On August 6, 1912, a very unusual person was born in Rotterdam. And although the first thirty years Arnold Gerrit Henske did not consider himself unusual, inexplicable events often happened to him.

For example, once he drew his relative. And this, of course, was nothing unusual - Arnold painted perfectly and always loved brushes and paints … But he had never seen either his aunt or her photograph, which did not prevent the artist from painting a portrait with almost photographic accuracy.

Sometimes Henske complained that he woke up all stained with paint, and on the easel there were pictures that he certainly did not paint during the day. But this was not what made Arnold famous, although the paintings (albeit painted in a dream) were made masterfully. Henske became famous the day he turned thirty-three.

On that very day, he was seriously injured, which did not cause him any pain or any inconvenience, and generally remained without consequences. From that moment on, Henske became convinced that he was invulnerable. He began wandering around bars and cafes, inviting anyone who wanted to kill himself for money. Then he took the pseudonym Mirin Dajo and gave a performance in a concert hall in Zurich. After the amazing presentation of the invulnerable Mirin, Dajo spoke up the whole city.

According to eyewitnesses, Dajo was sitting naked to the waist in the center of the stage. A suitable assistant pierced Dajo's body with an 80 cm rapier in the kidney area. At the same time, deception was ruled out, because the tip of the rapier protruded from Mirin Dajo's chest. There was no blood at all.

Doctors also observed the experiments of Dajo-Henske. And when the doctors, suspecting the likelihood of hypnotic influence, offered to take an X-ray, Dajo with a rapier in his chest reached the X-ray room, since it was impossible to put him on a stretcher along with a blade that pierced the body.

The images clearly showed that the blade had passed through vital organs, but judging by Mirin's condition, it had not caused any damage. And although the doctors feared that after removing the blade from Dajo, bleeding would begin, nothing like this happened: only tiny specks remained on Mirin's body, showing where the blade entered and exited. After the X-ray, Dajo went outside and ran several laps around the clinic, which indescribably surprised the audience.

From time to time, the blades sprinkled with poison or deliberately rusted.

In one performance in Zurich, to prove to the public that this was not a hoax, Dajo was pierced with three hollow 8mm pipes through which water was supplied. His assistant noted Dajo's telepathic and healing abilities, people were treated in the presence of doctors. At his performances, the audience often fainted from what they saw. During one of the performances, a particularly impressionable spectator had a heart attack.

Dajo's experiments became more and more brutal: once the rapier hit the rib. Several people lost consciousness due to the grinding sound in complete silence, and Mirin's performances were forbidden to be shown in large halls. The "invulnerable man" again moved to bars and cafes.

Mirin himself said that he has guardian angels who tell him exactly what experiments he should perform on the body - after all, sometimes Mirin was pierced several dozen times a day! The blade could pass through the heart or lungs, and sometimes through several organs at once. Mirin continued his experiments, complicating them with a red-hot blade or a rusty dagger - but still remained invulnerable. Dajo claimed that at the moment of the experiment, his body lost its "physical essence", and some claimed that he became invisible at all. According to his only friend Gurt, one day Dajo broke his arm. But as soon as the ends of the bone were connected, the fracture disappeared.

For Mirin Dajo, his performances were not the goal of gaining fame or fortune, he wanted to show the world that there is something more than reality, and a person can exist outside the material world. People should understand that there is a higher power, a source, God, who gives these abilities, as a clear sign that there is something more beyond the materialistic picture of the world. He claimed that he was delivering the message of peace, and the materialistic path of a person could lead to poverty and war.

One day, the "angels" told Dajo to swallow a steel needle, which was then to be removed by the surgeons. The operation was to take place without anesthesia. And although Mirin swallowed the needle, the doctors refused to operate on the patient without anesthesia. The needle was removed, and Mirin was sent home. After a few days he was still in bed, but since long hours of meditation was the norm for Dajo, Gurt only checked his friend's pulse. The pulse was normal, and Gurt left Dajo. Three days later, he died, and an autopsy showed that the invulnerable person did not die due to surgery or a swallowed needle - the famous Mirin Dajo died due to a ruptured aorta.
