The platform will not remove "borderline" content or close access to it, according to a YouTube message. Video hosting specialists and artificial intelligence will select controversial videos.
Recommendations will change gradually and will initially affect the “very small set of videos” in the US. Over time, as the system for defining "border" content becomes more accurate, the innovation will be extended to more countries.
Users will still be able to find videos in search by deliberately entering a suitable query. In recommendations, videos will be displayed only to those who are subscribed to channels that publish such content.
Earlier, YouTube said it would remove videos with life-threatening challenges and flash mobs from the platform, as well as content with casino ads.
