Scientists from the BBSRC recorded the appearance of death during experiments with worms. This was reported by the Oanews edition.
Scientists are sure that just before death, a bluish wave runs through the body of the worms.
The researchers were so inspired by their discovery that they decided to continue research that may help uncover the secret of human immortality.
According to experts, the so-called blue wave seemed to draw out the remaining energy from the organs, after which they simply stopped functioning. The researchers also believe that the movement of the blue wave directly depends on calcium signals and further leads to cell death.
Scientists have put forward the theory that they will someday be able to block these waves and thereby affect the vitality of the body. However, it is unlikely that they will succeed, since it is necessary to investigate the cause of the appearance of life, and not its end (i.e., the consequence).
