The desire to get a job was too great.

Residents of the Rostov region unwittingly turned out to be the culprits of a failure in the operation of a neural network in Moscow, which works on the principles of artificial intelligence.

This was told by the employees of the nationwide IT company Superjob, which develops technologies for personnel selection and job search.

Experts have created a neural network - a computer program that acts like a network of nerve cells in a living organism. The machine compiles resumes of job applicants using only their photographs. In addition, the algorithm determines from the photo what salary the applicant can apply for.

“This is an absolutely unique project, nowhere in the world is there anything like it in Internet recruiting,” the President of Superjob Alexey Zakharov explained to the DON 24 news agency.

The artificial intelligence network was introduced last week. Launching a breakthrough technology, the company asked users across the country to submit their photos. This required uploading an image to a mobile phone and sending it to Moscow.

The creators of the neural network explained that the more a photograph matches a person's profession, the easier it will be to create a resume.

“Obviously, if an accountant uploads a photo on the beach in swimming trunks and a can of beer to the system, the result will be negative. And if, for example, a taxi driver is photographed at the wheel of a car, then it will be easier for the system to compose a resume,”added Alexey Zakharov.

However, not everyone heeded these warnings. The company was bombarded with a barrage of inappropriate photographs. Especially here the residents of Don distinguished themselves.

“The most decent pictures from your region were pictures of Cossacks in hats, pets and personal cars,” said Alexey Zakharov. - We received a lot of photos of high school students. Someone had the idea to supply our smart car with photographs of Don crayfish, Don shawarma and a monument to a Rostov woman on the embankment. But the Rostovites surpassed everyone, who sent photos of homeless people from the Rostov suburban railway station.

Artificial intelligence did not expect such creativity from humans. The Superjob neural network got confused due to a large stream of ridiculous photos and could not withstand the load. Since the algorithm self-learns in the process of operation, its image recognition quality has significantly deteriorated in three days of operation.

“The people load whatever they want into the neural network,” Alexei Zakharov throws up his hands. - How to determine her profession from a photograph of a girl in a bikini?

At the moment Superjob has to disable the neural network. The company's management apologized to everyone who the neural network incorrectly identified. Yet artificial intelligence could not replace humans, experts admitted. Therefore, everyone who needs to make the perfect resume will be helped by the company's in-house consultants, summed up Alexey Zakharov.
