Pacifida or Pasifida (from the English Pacific Ocean), also the Continent of Mu is a sunken continent in the Pacific Ocean. In the ancient myths of different peoples, an island, subcontinent, or even a continent is often mentioned in various places in the modern Pacific Ocean.
In the occult and parascientific literature about the Pacifid, there are many versions, often contradicting each other, based on the myths of different peoples and, often, the fantasies of the authors.
The search for Pacifida on the seabed was practically not carried out. Research conducted has found no evidence of a continent or a large island. Another - prehistoric - continent is also known under the name Pacifida, the first to break away from Gondwana, and much earlier than the rest. In its place, Australia, New Zealand and some of the islands of Oceania arose. This explains the uniqueness of their animal and plant world.

Mu is a fictional continent in the Myths of Cthulhu. Lovecraft mentioned it in his story Out of Time (1933). Mu appears in several other Myths stories, including many written by Lin Carter. Mentioned also in the work "The Vision of the Yaddit" from the appendix to the Necronomicon.

Borrowed by occult writers Auguste Le-Plongeon and James Churchward, in whose writings Mu became the designation for the giant Pacific continent - the foremother of all world cultures. The term "Mu" is often found among mystics and adherents of parascientific theories.
