In the fall of 2003, Dmitry Bayanov, scientific director of the Moscow Center for Hominology, took part in an international symposium on the problem of the snow man, held in the state of California. Since then, the Center has been conducting a lively exchange of information with researchers of the "Bigfoot" issue from different countries, primarily from the United States. As a result of such an exchange in the fall of 2004, I (the author of the article Igor BURTSEV, Candidate of Historical Sciences. President of the Cryptosphere Foundation) visited the Carter farm in Tennessee and lived there for five weeks, “investigating” the unique events associated with the long-term observation of the farm owner Janice Carter behind the life of the Bigfoot family

After that trip, there was literally an avalanche of messages about more and more points in the United States, where such contacts of people with wild hairy humanoid ones take place.

Even during my stay in Tennessee at the Carter farm in the fall of 2004, Janice, the owner of the farm, had serious property disputes with applicants for her land. The fact is that her uncle, the co-owner of the farm, in her absence and without her knowledge, three years ago, sold all the land, including half that belonged to Janice, to two neighbors - Pilpot and Hunt. Later, when Janice returned to her home on the farm, she started a lawsuit with the aim of returning the illegally taken land. This process lasted about three years, and in the end she was forced to give in, limiting herself to only receiving only twenty thousand dollars for her 25 hectares and a house on them. And in the spring of 2005, she left home and moved with her husband Tom and five-year-old daughter Holly to a trailer on the land of her ex-mother-in-law a hundred miles from her nest …

Our communication with her on the Internet has practically ceased, Janice now has no telephone, no Internet. True, sister Layla continues to live on her former land with her family, but our connection with her is very weak. We get the news from there through researcher Mary Green, who only occasionally receives news from Lila, judging by which members of the Bigfoot Fox family continue to visit the farm yard.

But soon after my return from the United States in the fall of 2004, Dmitry Bayanov, the scientific director of the center of hominology, began to receive letters about similar phenomena in another part of the United States - in the state of Texas. His informant, let's call him Jack L, reported that for several years he has been in contact with Bigfoots on a telepathic level, but sometimes he observes them and their traces on a physical level. And on October 28 of the same year, he unexpectedly stumbled upon traces of Bigfoot on the shore of a small lake. They were from two individuals. Larger ones are up to 45 cm long, others are slightly smaller (photo 1, 2).

Later, in January 2005, Jack sent in more photographs of Bigfoot footprints, this time in the snow. Winter in those places is mild, even warm by our standards, there is little snow. Nevertheless, the pictures clearly show the traces of large flat feet, clearly not bearish, but not with

All human beings (photo 3, 4). These footprints were photographed on a farm that has been feeding Bigfoots for years. An interesting feature: every time a Bigfoot comes for food, it leaves … a pebble in exchange or in gratitude. The hostess keeps pebbles, and she has accumulated so much that they needed more than one whatnot (photo 5).

And in September 2005 D. Yu. Bayanov had a chance to write on the Internet with another "contactee" - an elderly woman, Karin, who has been feeding Bigfoots for fifteen years at the location of her farm in Northern California. Dmitry Yuryevich, with the help of American colleagues, sent her a book by Mary Green and Janice Carter on observations of Bigfoot. When asked to comment on the book, Karin replied that she did not find anything in the book that contradicted her observations of Bigfoot. Everything that is described in it is in full agreement with her observations. Karin continues to correspond with Bayanov to this day, shares news from the life of Bigfoots and often thanks us for our attention to her information. She tried several times to photograph these mysterious "guests" and sent them to us. But - their quality leaves much to be desired,so do not bring them to the attention of the readers …

Chanda McCreary, Susie's pigtailed mare, pigtails in her mane

And in November 2005, Chanda McCrary, a thirty-year-old American woman from Missouri, contacted us via the Internet. She reported that at the farm of her friend Michelle, located on the road with the strange name "Braid" (it is written in English letters, and the word seems to be Russian), someone at night … braids pigtails in the manes of horses! I quote one of her letters almost verbatim:

“A mare named Sophie in October 2005 began to appear in the mane of the most real pigtails. Her mistress Michelle spent a lot of time combing her mane: she lubricated it with a special oil, used different combs with large teeth. But as soon as the mare was driven out to free grazing, her pigtails reappeared. Then Michelle decided to find out who was braiding her mare's mane, and began to follow her. I helped her in this. And for comparison, she even braided her pigtail in her mane.

And then one day I managed to notice the dark figure of a two-legged flickering in the bushes: it was a sasquatch (another name for these creatures, common in North America - IB)! I heard his heavy steps and later even saw his footprints on the ground - the footprints of bare human feet of enormous size. I also noticed some trees that had large branches bent or broken at a height that was higher than my height."

Later, Chanda, on our advice with Bayanov, contacted Janice Carter from Tennessee. Janice told Chanda that these kind of pigtails really do make big feet. And another researcher from the United States told her, as she wrote, that he observed a similar phenomenon in the state of Kentucky. So now we know at least three states where pigtails appear in horse manes. By the way, Jack also told us about the pigtails that appear in the mane … of a llama (in Texas)!

Chanda will write later: “I have never seen such braids before, and when I tried to reproduce one, I failed. The pigtail is usually woven from strands, which are pre-twisted into bundles and then tightly woven. I myself was previously familiar with different types of braids that girls weave, and I also know how to braid them in different ways, but I have never seen such braids. And I do not know why they are woven big feet. As I have now learned, similar phenomena are taking place in the south of Russia”.

Why did Chanda come to us? The fact is that back in the early 70s of the last century, I also encountered a similar phenomenon in the Talish Mountains in the south of Azerbaijan and dealt with this issue quite a lot, and Chanda found out about it from some websites. Local residents in Talysh then argued that the braids were braided by guleibans - wild forest people. The horse owners did not mind my cutting off the samples, and I collected about 40 of them in total. Quite a lot of time - several summer seasons - I spent investigating the mystery of the appearance of such plaits, which appeared mainly in mares. But he could not come to a definite opinion. At least one of the mares, which I closely watched for three nights, had a pigtail formed by itself. How - I will explain below.

Testimonies of the addiction of these semi-legendary creatures to horses have a long history and are widespread not only in the Caucasus. Pigtails were braided by the Russian brownie, the English "goblin", and the Kabardian "Almasty". Louis Marie Sinistrari, professor of philosophy and theology, legal adviser to the Supreme Tribunal of the Holy Inquisition in Rome, wrote a treatise with a long title: "Attitudes towards demons, and about animals" incubi "and" succubi ", which proves that there are intelligent creatures on earth, excellent from a person who, like him, have a body and soul, like him, born and dying … "This treatise was written in order for the courts to distinguish the connection with demons from the connection with the named creatures, which are not considered by the author to be a supernatural force.: "He," incubus ", sticks to the mares. If they obey his wishes, he surrounds them with care and affection, braids their mane into many knots that cannot be untangled; but if they resist, he tortures and beats them, catches glanders on them, and finally kills, as evidenced by everyday practice."

The well-known author of the animal world encyclopedia Igor Akimushkin argued that these pigtails are entangled by a weasel, a small predatory animal that is widespread almost throughout Russia. The well-known authority in the zoological world P. A. Manteuffel described in his time in his book "Stories of a Naturalist" how a weasel climbs a horse in search of salt and licks the salt from the neck, at the same time entangling and braiding its mane. Many horse breeders are also sure that a weasel braids the mane. In practice, this opinion was established and became generally accepted.

But one glance at "our" pigtails was enough to abandon the idea of authorship of the weasel. "Pigtails" are rather loops, woven from twisted plaits, starting from the middle of the length of the strands and up to their end. In addition, the woven strands are usually tied in knots. The resulting loop cannot be broken even with great effort. (Photo 6.7)

I remember then we showed the pigtails to the biologist N. F. Magyarnoy, candidate of biological sciences V. E. Flint, experienced zoopsychologist Kurt Ernestovich Fabri. All of them categorically rejected the authorship of the weasel in plaiting. This opinion was supported by the hereditary horse breeder Nikolai Samokhvalov from the Moscow region.

And then I continued observing the horses grazing in the wild on the lands of the Lankaran region in Azerbaijan. Once, when I noticed an emerging pigtail in the mane of one of them, I began to chase this very horse at night, armed with a night rifle scope for a Kalashnikov assault rifle provided by the border guards there.

Author in Azerbaijan, pigtail, braid weaving pattern

And what did I see? First: the pigtail begins to braid from below, from the ends of the hair, and not from the base. The whole process lasted three days: at first it was a small braid at the end of the mane hair; the next day the braid increased, and the strands that had not yet been braided turned out to be twisted, and on the third day I saw a completely formed braid, but nevertheless the braiding did not reach the base of the hair, the braid remained unbraided by half of their length, and the braid did not increase anymore. A kind of loop was formed, ending in an oblique. Having examined it well, I saw that a lump of clay had adhered to the tip of my hair, which held the strands together. But nobody approached the mare !!! I began to think … As I remember now: after night observation, when I climbed through the mud with a night vision device (Lankaran is a subtropical zone, from where tangerines came to Russia, rains are frequent there), sat in a trailer on an iron bed net, ate a watermelon and pondered. And suddenly it dawned on me! I cut off three long straps from the cover of the army night vision scope, tied them to the headboard, tied the other end of all three straps together in a knot and began to pass this knot through the gaps between the ribbons - now to the left, now to the right. A braid began to form before our eyes, and it grew from the lower ends of the ribbons! Q. E. D…and it grew from the lower ends of the ribbons! Q. E. D…and it grew from the lower ends of the ribbons! Q. E. D…

Then I decided that the pigtail would form by itself. When the horse shakes his head, driving away flies, midges and horseflies - and she does this thousands of times a day - then the lump of clay that held the ends of the strands starts jumping and sometimes falls into the gap between two strands. Another time, it may fall into another gap, although it happens that two or three times in one gap, because the braid is uneven, rough, but still - a braid. Realizing this, I immediately gathered my things and left those places, "closing" the topic of braids. And, as I later realized, in vain.

In August 1991, a young Kharkov biologist Grigory Panchenko collected information about the Caucasian hominoid (almasty) in Kabardino-Balkaria. One day he received a message from local residents that in the Kuruko tract, Almasty weaves braids in the mane of a mare belonging to the guard of a state farm barn. Panchenko went to Kuruko, found this watchman. He allowed the biologist to spend the night in the barn, where the mare stayed for the night, whose pigtails appeared in the morning. The door of the barn was locked, but, according to the watchman, Almasty entered the barn through a window in which there was no glass. Grigory hid in a barn under a couch covered with a blanket. Since he was very tired after a long hike in the mountains with a heavy backpack on his shoulders, he immediately fell asleep. Waking up in the middle of the night, he pushed back the edge of the blanket and saw in the twilight that next to the horse, who was standing by the manger with food, there is someone stooped, without clothes, hairy. He made strange, almost bird-like chirping sounds, smacked and swallowed saliva. After a while, this someone, apparently sensing the presence of a person, walked away from the horse and with a double jump, which a person would not be capable of, jumped and ended up in the window opening (see figure). Panchenko, it became clear that this was not a man, but Almasty. He jumped out and did not appear again. In the morning, Grigory discovered pigtails in the horse's mane, which were not there in the evening (observation of G. Panchenko is described by D. Yu. Bayanov in his book "In the footsteps of the Bigfoot in Russia", published in English).whatever the person was capable of, he jumped and ended up in the window opening (see figure). Panchenko, it became clear that this was not a man, but Almasty. He jumped out and did not appear again. Thus, the hominologists became convinced that the pigtails in the manes of horses have a twofold origin - natural, as I observed on Talysh, and artificial, from the hands of the homin. And this letter from Missouri again turned me to this problem: there, too, someone is braiding pigtails in their manes. Actually, not someone: the observers definitely know who. These are big feet, or sasquatch! In a word - hominoids …

At my request, Chanda sent pictures of the braids. It's amazing how they look like ours !!! You can see them yourself in the photos. (A few pictures of braids).

These are the parallels found in the behavior of hominoids in North America and our neighboring countries …

And here is our newest contact with the Bigfoot observers, which began in January this year. A world famous researcher who has been observing chimpanzees in the wild for many years, Jane Goodall "brought out" D. Yu. Bayanov to a resident of another US state, a certain Robin J., who also for many years has been observing the homies who regularly visit the vicinity of her house in the forest. Now our Center has an interesting correspondence with her.

The reader's question probably arises: how is it that expensive expeditions to the Himalayas are organized for these creatures, and they are here, next to them, homies are adjacent to people, even cause them inconvenience, and representatives of official science do not pay attention to this !? The observers themselves partially answer this question, who, by the way, have different attitudes towards these creatures.

For example, Robin wrote the following in her open letter to Chanda in February.

“I have lived in this area for 14 years, but I only discovered the Bigfoot four years ago. During this time, I did not have the slightest desire to tame them or make them in any way dependent on people or make them trust people. My goal from the very first acquaintance with them to the present moment is a calm, comfortable coexistence with them. So that I and my pets can safely walk in the forest, without fear that they will harm us. And at the same time, so that they live as they want, as they are accustomed to, without our interference in their lives. I never tried to get close to them, but at the same time, I allowed them to approach me if they wanted to. I didn't try to influence their behavior. And I myself continued to live as before. I walk with my dogs in the woods, sit at a table in the yard, sometimes I read at night or just listen to the river. We're just neighbors. When they come, I rejoice. When they are not there, I miss them terribly …"

Karin has been "communicating" with homies for fifteen years. And her attitude towards big feet is more active. She feeds them, but so that they do not come too close to the house, do not interfere with sleep and in general, in any way, cause inconvenience to people. She writes that although they are not dangerous, they can accidentally and cause disturbance. For example, one bigfoot teenager, in case of delays in feeding, was impatient, came to the house, threw pebbles and knots at the walls and windows.

Michelle, relying on the experience of others, is not going to feed the homies at all, so as not to accustom them to herself …

It should be noted that the epithet "international" exists not just for the sake of a catchphrase. Paradoxically, even contacts between American researchers from different places begin and continue through us; through us, their actions and behavior towards hominoids are coordinated, not to mention the coordination of efforts of researchers from other countries - Canada, France, Great Britain, China, Australia, Germany and others.

As for the "contactees" directly in the United States, as a result of our contacts with them, the idea arose of creating a Union of Friends of Sasquatch / Bigfoot. At first, D. Yu. Bayanov in correspondence with Robin, who is doing a lot of work, seeking to organize the protection of these creatures from the authorities of her state and create protected areas for hominoids, but later this idea turned into serious intentions of many researchers and observers. By the way, in our country, Valery Ivanovich Sergeev, a huntsman from the Kirov region who recently died, put a lot of effort into organizing nature reserves for goblin, many times he met hominoids in his native forests. There, the relevant state environmental organizations have now turned to face this problem.

At the same time, at the initiative of our Center, the creation of the Research Group on Relic Hominoids at one of the US universities is in full swing; both of us and D. Yu. Bayanov. It is headed by the American anthropologist Jeff Meldrum. A scientific journal of this organization has also been established. By the way, the term "relict hominoid" is of Russian origin, and even the logo of this organization was developed by our artist, and it has already been approved.

At the suggestion of Dmitry Bayanov, on March 17, Marie tied three different-colored ribbons to the strands of hair in her mane, two of them she braided into her braids, and the third one she left free (photo 01). And literally the next morning - to her great joy! - she saw that a loose ribbon (purple) was woven into a pigtail that appeared at night. Woven is conditional: it is simply twisted on strands in the kind of pigtails that Bigfoots have woven (photo 03). Nearby she found huge footprints.

And at three o'clock in the afternoon, when Marie was riding around on her mare a section of the field at the edge of the forest, the horse suddenly stopped and became obstinate, disobeying commands, and behaved uneasily. Looking around, Marie noticed a dark figure of a Bigfoot among the trees at a distance of about fifty meters. He turned and instantly disappeared into the thickets. Marie could see that he was about six feet (180 centimeters) tall, his whole body was covered with rather long, almost black hair.

And a day later, on March 19, the ends of the woven ribbon were loosened into threads, and these threads were also entangled in the already changed pigtail.
